Ford Bringing a Stable Full of Mustangs to SEMA

This Vaughn Gittin Jr. RTR-C looks the best to me, but you can see the rest at Ford.com. And of course we’ll have all the pics here in the CarDomain Blog early next week!
2010 Ford Mustang by Vaughn Gittin Jr.
World championship drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr. has introduced a new generation of Mustang to the world with the Mustang RTR. The extremely limited-production Mustang RTR-C puts still more muscle behind the already incredible 2010 Ford Mustang GT. Balancing 550 tire-shredding American horsepower with new-generation design influences, Vaughn has incorporated state-of-the-art technology with first-rate carbon fiber body construction to make the Mustang RTR-C one incredible-looking, raw performance machine.

Project Sick Seconds Coming Along; Will Miss SEMA for 2009
By Brian Lohnes
BangShift.com
We had heard that the guys at Pro Rides were thrashing hard on project Sick Seconds, the sledgehammer of a 1969 Camaro that is being built to run consistent 6-second laps on Hot Rod Magazine Drag Week in 2010. The guys were trying to have the car at SEMA but time and work will not allow them to do that. Despite that hiccup, the guys seems to be making good, steady progress.
The Unlimited class at Drag Week is turning into a nuclear arms race of sorts with guys like Larry Larsen packing enough power to drop a 6-second elapsed time on the world. No one has done it yet, but if this car is completed, we think they’ve got a great shot, as does the aforementioned Larsen.
Basically, the guys did not want to try to slap dash something together to make a car look like something for the SEMA show. After talking with their sponsors and supporters it was agreed that the car would stay home in 2009 and attend the 2010 show.
Here’s a recent progress shot of the car:

Varis x Runduce GRB Impreza Sti
By Ben Schaffer
The Real JDM
Another incredible collaboration between Original Runduce and Varis! Much like the Evo collaboration that I blogged about earlier, the two companies are finishing off their Subaru Impreza as well! Again the concept remains to use the Varis complete aero kit (already released) and then to produce a new front spoiler design penned by Original Runduce.
I’m excited to have a look at this and the Evo at Tokyo Auto Salon 2010! Hopefully it will be there!

Hemmings Find of the Day: NASCAR GTO
By Dan Strohl
Hemmings
On first blush, you’d think some hillbilly down South found a GTO rusted up to its doorsills and decided to live out his Ricky Bobby fantasies by cutting out the wheelwells and stuffing wide tires underneath. But the seller of this 1966 GTO out of La Jolla, California, claims it has actual race history. Continue reading at Hemmings

The Garage Boso S15
By Speedhunters
Car Culture At Large
Last weekend at the Formula Drift awards banquet, an award for “Best Looking Car” was given out. I’m not exactly sure what criteria was used in the judging, but I don’t disagree with the results. As part of our Driver’s Month features on Speedhunters, we figured it’d be the perfect time to do a feature on the “Rossta” S15. On Saturday morning I took a short drive over to Garage Boso in Gardena where co-owner Frank Siharath showed me around the shop and rolled out the infamous multicolored S15 for some photos. Subaru Version of Toyota FT-86 to Get Turbo, AWD
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
I think the new Toyota FT-86 looks pretty good, but this rendering of the upcoming Subie version looks hot! Apparently the Subaru will be bigger, heavier, and come with a turbo 2.0 liter and AWD. More pics after the jump, and all the details over at 7tune.

Mountain Men, Cars in Barns and Crazy Bees: Part One
By Ryan Brutt

This weekend I made plans to go meet some of my Chicago/Rockford area Mopar friends for a little expedition. I had heard about a Charger and Super Bee sitting in a guy’s yard. I always had heard stories about it, but no one had evidence. So I planned the expedition and headed out Sunday morning.
I got to Rockford to meet up with the Eric and Mark at Mark’s home in Rockford, where he showed us around his garage with the 70 Challenger R/T convertible. He also had a 383 big block in the corner (everywhere we went, everyone had a big block sitting in the corner). We talked there for a bit, then went and picked up another of our friends with a Superbird. But we all jumped in my 09 Challenger, because it could fit us all!

Caught on Tape: Dodge Viper Wreck
Tampa Sports Car Examiner
Watch as a Dodge Viper showboating for a Subaru Impreza with a camcorder rear ends a utility van. The two are zooming through traffic and then they are slowed down by congestion in their lane. The Viper thinks he can zoom off for an elated pull into stardom, but ends up in the back seat of a utility van. I guess he didn’t see the traffic in his targeted pull lane was at a complete stop. Ouch! Read more at Tampa Sports Car Examiner!
