Time Attack!
By Rob Krider
Racerboy
Sure, we all know that you would probably be racing in F1 already if there wasn’t that small complication about you not having a racing license. Guess what? Your endless excuses are now null and void. Time Attack is a venue where a regular guy (or gal) can go out and race on the big tracks. That’s right, no parking lot racing here. These events are held on real race tracks that you’ve been reading about in magazines and playing on Gran Turismo for years.
Time Attack is a timed racing event where you take your car onto the track, do your best impression of Aryton Senna on a qualifying lap, and try to put down a blisteringly fast time. Your best lap time is compared to that of people in your class (similar cars, similar mods). The one with the fastest lap time picks up a trophy and never ending glory.
Time Attack is something YOU can do in your own ride. To learn where, cost, car preparation, adrenaline factor and how to actually win a Time Attack read the rest at Speed Sport Life.

Corvette Racing and Flying Lizard Play Rough at Laguna Seca
By John Coyle
Deputy Editor
In ALMS, we’re generally for Corvette Racing. But at Laguna Seca, driver Jan Magnussen was bumping like it was NASCAR, and on the last lap, Flying Lizard driver Joerg Bermeister gave him a taste of his own medicine. This battle was the highlight of the entire race, and you can watch the last few laps in this longer clip, but if you just want to see the final confrontation, check out the video below. As you can imagine, the officials weren’t happy…
The cars of Mad Max 4, Revealed!
By Fireball Tim
Movie Car Design Master
Not too much, but great interview with the director, George Miller. It’s a go, and slated for tons of destruction. And since modern day movies have a lot to live up for, MM4 has to come to the plate prepared.
CarDomain Obscure Muscle Car Parking Lot Head to Head: 73-74 Ford Grand Torino vs. 73-74 Chevy Laguna
By Jim Brennan
UDMan
Welcome to another installment of the CarDomain Obscure Muscle Car Parking Lot, a regular feature which aims to expand the definition of what a muscle car is, and to discover that there were indeed Muscle Cars of the 70′s. It has been a little over two weeks sine I last did an Obscure Muscle Car Posting, so I though I would make up for it with a head to head comparison of two rather obscure 70′s Detroit boats from Ford and Chevrolet. Remember, they were both produced after stringent regulations were passed in regards to safety, emissions, fuel economy, and federalized bumper regulations. Let me introduce you to the Ford Gran Torino Sport (with the 351 Cobra Jet), and the Chevrolet Laguna (with the LS5 454).

By Rob Einaudi

The winners have been announced for eBay Motors Master Contest. Here’s one of my favorites, the Minissan, which won the tuner category. See the winning entries for muscle cars, off-road and motorcycles after the jump. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing these rides and meeting the builders in person next week at SEMA. Think you can do better? Then start documenting your project and enter next year!

Ronnie Friggin' Sox
By Brian Lohnes
BangShift.com
We’ll jump right to it and tell you that if you’re in a hurry, skip to the last 30 seconds or so of the video to see and hear why Ronnie Sox was called “Mr. 4Speed.” Its is absolutely wild and proof that there are guys who can simply operate a manual transmission and then there were guys born to work a manual transmission. Sox was the latter. He also seems to have the “never lift, Southern-doorslammer, keep it to the wood” mentality that we love so much.
Nothing else to say. Ronnie Sox was the freakin’ man. Just the sight of him careening down this bumpy, cow path of a drag strip, grabbing gears the whole way makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up.
Bulletproof S2000 GT Topless
By Ben Schaffer
The Real JDM
I’d like to share with you a view of my S2000 that even I had never seen before. Ever since I built the S2000, I had never once taken the top off. All of that changed recently. I’ve been on a bit of a quest to remind myself of why I love the S2000 so much. Keep in mind I started Bulletproof with this same very S2000 almost 10 years ago! As such, I’ve decided to transition from the car being a cool looking car into the car being fun to own and drive around town daily.
The transformation from cool to practical has come with several painful sacrifices. First off the Bride Gias and Stradia seats have been sold off. These photos show them for the last time in the car. Currently I have put the stock seats back in and I’m on a bit of a quest to find the perfect daily driving seats (any suggestions?). Continue reading at The Real JDM
