20 Years Strong
By Speedhunters
Car Culture At Large
Sometimes it’s really hard to believe that the high tech R32 Skyline GT-R is now over 20 years old. The R32 is just one of several iconic Japanese cars that recently have crossed the 20-year mark. Others include the S13 Silvia and the NA chassis Mazda Roadster. Surely these cars will be the “nostalgics” of generations to come. The car in the photo is the Auto Gallery Yokohama R32, seen at Tsukuba Circuit last year.

Funny Ferrari Parody
Tampa Sports Car Examiner
Everyone knows that Ferrari stands for top quality, appearance, performance, and utmost street respect. But did you know you can race them on the track while doing other activities? This funny video shows just all the side activities you can take on while kicking butt at the tracks. Knitting, text messaging, and more can all be done while making good use of the Ferrari.
Nissan 370Z STILLEN Wing Sneak Peak
By admin

While filming with the guys from Stillen the other day, they let us get a look at the upcoming Stillen wing for the 370Z. This is a prototype, but it looks great. Like all of their body components, the wing is made from durable, OEM-like urethane, fits perfectly with no drilling and will be delivered ready for paint. Watch the video here.
Look for the Adam Carolla CarCast episode featuring Steve Millen from Stillen on Saturday October 31, 2009. Steve brought some very cool cars with him and we fire them up!

Los Angeles Continues to Surprise Me…
By John Coyle
Deputy Editor
So there are a lot of ways that Los Angeles is different from Seattle. First, there are sick cars everywhere. I mean, people in the office joke that I live in the ghetto, but there’s a Bentley Continental GT that parks in front of my house all the time. Then there’s the whole liquor-in-the-grocery-store thing, and the fact that there are more marijuana “dispensaries” than there are Starbucks. But the latest thing to trip me out? You can buy racing gas at the pump. Sure, it costs $8.50 a gallon, but it’s there. How wild is that?

Caption Contest: This Week's Winner
By John Coyle
Deputy Editor
Well, I’ve been down in sunny SoCal for almost a month, and I can say the only painful thing about the move has been changing my holiday plans. Getting a flight home—it’ll always be home—to soggy Seattle for Thanksgiving cost me peanuts. But my changing my Christmas flights? Ugh. I bought tickets to see my Florida fam back in August, and [unnamed travel site] totally gave it to me for changing my departure city. It was brutal. But anyway, this week’s winner is FireDem12, who came up with; “As cleanup work continues at the site of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster, the long-term effects of radiation exposure are becoming more pronounced.” Nice work, man. I thought coming up with a caption for this wacky image would be rough, but you made it look easy. Tune in tomorrow for the next installment of our swine-flu-free Caption Contest!

Million Dollar Daytona
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
I really enjoy getting Michael Sheehan’s newsletter and seeing what he has for sale. I’ll probably never own a Ferrari, but I can dream, right? I really love this 71 Daytona Spyder, one of just 122 Spyders built by the factory. It just underwent a full resto, and the color combo is stunning. Yours for just $995,000!

Reverse Entry Drift Makes Drifting History
Tampa Sports Car Examiner
The perfect drift by driver M. Kawabata took place during a JDM session using a Nissan RPS13 on Toyo Tires. On the brink of completely spinning out, Kawabata keeps the car under control and implies a reverse entry drift. This is truly the perfect drift! The rear tires almost touch the outside boundary upon entry, and through the remaining duration of the drift he hugs the inside of the corner. Maintaining perfect speed, many have already dubbed this as “the best drift ever”. Read more about the perfect drift at Tampa Sports Car Examiner.
Old School Pro Street Lives at Summit Racing!
By Brian Lohnes
BangShift.com
We found this car feature story at SummitRacing.com, and it was like we were back in the pages of Car Craft magazine in around 1989 or 1991. This ’62 Pontiac fullsize is so much like a retro Pro Street car it’s amazing, complete with huge tubs and murals in the tweed door panels. We’re not sure the guy who built it intended it as a retro car, but it sure hit us that way. Go check it out.

Hooray For Sports Cars!
By Ben Schaffer
The Real JDM
With all of the blog talk on the Tokyo Motor Show lately, I just wanted to share my two cents.
Many sports car purists (myself included) have been disappointed by the massive slowdown of sports cars being produced. This slow down has been timed impeccably with the rise of eco cars, kei cars and overall cars that I would classify as practical and boring when compared to sports cars. As some of you can tell, I’ve been at times worried that sports car tuning is being gradually replaced with more “practical” and “eco” cars and the tuning that comes with them.
The trends have been validating my fears for the past couple of years and seeing my idol tuners like Top Secret switch new R&D to the Prius and Insight only brought that idea home more.
But I get the feeling like we’ve just reached a turning point for the better.
