A Cool Cam Air

By Jim Brennan

aka UDMan

Well, I have landed in Vegas with the rest of the CarDomain Crew. I have to say I’m a bit overwhelmed, but as the resident “truck guy,” I’ll try and do my best to uncover some of the wildest rigs at the show. And it looks like I’ve got my work cut out for me. For starters, check out this very well done 1957 Chevy Cameo: the Cam Air.

This truck is owned by Yogi Somerville, from Muscatine, Iowa. This truck started as a clean stock Cameo pickup, and Yogi did his best to merge the style of the Cameo and the 57 Bel Air, and installed a huge 454 Cubic inch Chevy V-8. The truck is fully decked out with Vintage Air, 700 R4 Automatic, and electric everything including an power tailgate. This truck took 7 years to build, and this will be the first show in which the truck will be displayed.

OMG !!! What a work of “art” and “beauty”. Yogi, man,,,,THIS IS AWESOME !!! I love your imagination. “CamAir” would be Cameo and BelAir mixed to form one name/word. The way you used your own visions even with the side trim. CamAir is “museum-quality”, and a true “masterpiece”. Yogi, you are a ‘new’ kind of “hero” man.
