Trick Pony: Ford’s Completely Carbon Fiber Mustang!
By John Coyle
Deputy Editor
You can’t throw a rock at SEMA without hitting something made out of carbon fiber, but even in this sea of lightweight material, this Mustang stood out. All the bodywork—and even the wheels!—is made out of carbon fiber, and while I didn’t find out exactly how many pounds lighter this Pony is from stock, it looks so trick, I don’t even care. Jen will have a post about all the rides in the Ford area later in the week, but I thought this was so cool I had to post it right away. More pics after the jump.

That Stang is beast, I can’t wait until it’s power plant is announced, it would be amazing to see a 5.0 with maybe one or two turbos attached(or even a supercharger), or even the 6.2 litre. Limitless possibilities.

Old school muscle + Carbon fiber = Same classic looks, but one really trick pony. I certainly hope the ricer boys are paying attention to this…

Carbon Fiber is awesome, saves weight, saves gas, and makes rides faster. This mustang looks nice. Thank you for posting this now I know what it takes to stand out in a sea of cars. I am thrilled that the same parts are available for my miatas LOL but it costs serious money for this kind of builds. axispowerracing.com/miata

This RTR-C is amazing, the carbon fiber weave even lines up panel to panel…
