(Like all the other Chevs of '59, the Brookwood, Parkwood, Kingswood, and Nomad were available with the 235 I6, 283V8 or 348 V8). The 348 was essentially a torque-monster truck engine that delivered anywhere from 220 to 335hp in stock states of tune. In 1961 it was enlarged to become the more well-known 409.
