That 240Z
By Speedhunters
Car Culture At Large
Let’s put all the cards on the table: this car is ridiculously stupid. The build quality is shoddy, the care that has been given to this car is questionable, and the ride height is by no means produced by a human with a single ounce of rational thought. Why would you take a prized relic such as this Nissan 240z and completely ruin it, turning it into some pretentious piece of metal that serves no function other than itself? i think that car looks amazing
and that is def a sweet pic. it just looks menacing
sometimes it just isnt about functionality or practicality

I’m not innocent when it comes to slamming rides. Anyone who reads my drivel will back that up.
-
Pretentious? Well, maybe a bit but I don’t think this ride or its owner has a chance in a pretentiousness contest. That viciously hideous green and gold Prius at SEMA faaar overshadows this in that respect.
-
The burn ‘n bolts fender install? This ride’s obviously a work in progress or maybe not. If it is and the owner has higher aspirations maybe he was putting them on with what was available, having blown his budget already on plastics, who knows? if not, maybe he’s of the rat rod mindset. With rat rodders, it’s not a matter of black ‘n white… it’s more a matter of degrees but everything is fair game.
-
The non-matching hood and fender? Those comments kinda turned me off to the writer instead of the car owner. Deserving insults comes AFTER the paint goes on, not before… with the exception of sanding all the paint off with no intention of replacing it.
-
The suspension? I can think of no other mod that is better poised to be a learning experience for whoever desires and makes the changes. So many times I’ve seen Civics and whatnot dropped almost down to the road and having so little suspension travel that the car has become a carnival ride. Unless the culprit has a severe IQ defficiency, his creation will surely end in regret and he will grow with the knowledge that a working suspension is an essential component unless the car is used exclusively in a warehouse.
-
I don’t think this ride didn’t quite deserve the writeup it got. Am I making excuses? Maybe a little but all in all a fly was squashed with a sledgehammer.

Then he turns around and says, “but out of all the cars I’ve seen and shot this year, Yuta’s 240z is easily my favorite car of the year. I absolutely love it.” What’s with that? Poorly wriiten at best.

The REAL LOSER regarding this article is LINHBERGH NGUYEN. Anyone who feels a need to get his jollies by putting down anyone else’s ride isn’t worth the time of day an obviously has a personal self identity crisis that can only be satisfied by talking trash. Personally, when I was starting out I had a lot of cars that were at best ranked up there with a trash dumpster but the comments I remember best were those coming from friends who gave their support and didn’t feel the need to tell me their rides were nicer than mine. Anyone and everyone who has a car should be proud of it and not be put down for any reason. And for what it’s worth, I think the Z is pretty damn cool.

what you dont realize is the fact that the car is a work in progress. its sitting on coilovers, so its adjustable. Its not actually a daily driver, so the rideheight is allowed to be Hellaflush. The rust/shoddy body work is due to the fact that the car was sitting next to the San Fran salt-air for a long time, fading the paint and rusting the hood. Have you seen how dope the interior is???
