E85 Performance: Toyota Supra with 800 WHP
Tampa Sports Car Examiner
Who says E85 has to be slow? E85 ethanol gasoline blend is actually better for forced induction performance because it lowers the risk of detonation. Alternative fuel does not indicate the end of the performance world! Read more about the Titan Motorsports 800 whp Toyota Supra running E85 at Tampa Sports Car Examiner.
Aggressive Offset Deja VW
Antonio Alvendia
I was reading Yoshi Shindo’s Passat story the other day and it really jumped off the page at me when he said he had “never been the greatest fan of VWs”. Not that there’s anything wrong with liking what you like. It just reminded me of something my boy Steve told me about the VW scene awhile back. He said (I’m paraphrasing): “There’s nothing new about aggressive offset and rolled fenders. VW guys have been doing that for over 30 years.” Continue reading and view more photos on MotorMavens!

Forum Wars: "Talk Smack, then Hit the Track"
By Rob Krider
Racerboy
We have all probably spent way too much time (at work) surfing different car forums. Some of us have even gotten into knock down drag out fights on the Internet with some Bozo about the power capabilities of the Nissan SR20DE engine. The fact of the matter is, people love to talk trash on car forums. Speed TV has a new show coming out, The Forum Wars presented by Royal Purple, which pits different cars/forums against each other for a drag race and road course shoot out. Internet excuses are over. Put up or shut up. The show will air in early 2010.

If you made it to this year’s SEMA show, then you know there was no shortage of 2010 Chevy Camaros on display. From mild to wild, tuners have embraced the reborn muscle car with great passion. One Camaro in particular caught my attention with its design, performance and build quality. It was no surprise to find out this was the latest creation from Lingenfelter Performance Engineering. Check out the full specs of this 750hp LS7 powered monster. While there, be sure to check out Adam Carolla’s CarCast video with Ken Lingenfelter.

Best of SEMA: Exotics
By John Coyle
Deputy Editor
Even discounting the hardware in the Giovanna Wheels booth—which was so dark I couldn’t get decent shots of anything—there were plenty of killer exotics at SEMA this year. As you can imagine, a car has to be pretty special to get attention here, because while a stock Lambo or Ferrari might turn tons of heads on the street, in this sea of insane customization, a machine has to be pretty special to stand out—regardless of its pedigree. All of these machines jumped out at me, but only one of them can win the exotics category. So what should it be, Pagani’s Zonda R, Gumpert’s Apollo, Devon’s GTX, Underground Racing’s twin-turbo Gallardo or Lexus’ LF-A? Vote now!

Daytona in the Barn: Barn Two
By Ryan Brutt
HemiPwr70
Coming out of the first barn, our host led us to the barn directly across from it. A bit smaller, but we didn’t care.
I broke off from the group for a moment and snapped some pictures of the vehicles littering the immediate area. A 69 Charger, 66/67 Charger, a school bus FULL of parts. In front of the first barn was sitting a 87 Dodge Truck and a 69 Satellite 2-door. The truck had 500,000 miles on the body and had seen 2 engines in its lifetime. He hauled most of his stuff with that truck he said.

E30s at H20 After Hours
Antonio Alvendia
Recently my buddy Dave Mucci made the trip from Chicago to Ocean City, MD, all for the love of automobiles! I figured it’d be pretty whack of me to write an article about H20 International since I’ve yet to go myself, so I asked the man, the myth, my buddy Mooch, to provide some guest commentary. Some of you may be familiar with Dave’s work in 0-60 Magazine, doing detailed engine illustrations. The kid is one hell of an artist, but he isn’t a writer by trade and I’m not much of a grammatical genius so bear with us. Hopefully you will be too engaged with the dope photos to give a crap. For the photography, Dave enlisted the help of Patrick Mizenko who took tons of killer photos. Thanks again to you both!!!
Enough rambling – on to the story!! Continue reading and view more photos on MotorMavens!
