Giant-Ass Rock Crawler in the Mickey Thompson Booth
By John Coyle
Deputy Editor
You want articulation? We got your articulation right here! I walked past the rock crawler in the Mickey Thompson booth like ten times yesterday, and I still couldn’t get over how massive it is. I mean, I’m six three, and it’d be a bitch for me to climb in. It looks like the kind of vehicle wimpy little crossovers dread seeing in a dark alley. More pics after the jump.

Check out this killer Nova in the Turn Key Engine Supply booth. For that matter, check out all the gorgeous engines strewn around the Turn Key Engine Supply Booth. Hell, they even made a table out of one! Check out video of the entire booth below the jump.

The Kia Booth at SEMA: The Coming of Age for Kia
By Jim Brennan
UDMan
If you haven’t been paying attention to Kia, you should. Kia is one of only a few car companies who’s sales has either stayed flat, or have actually improved during these tough economic times. The product is becoming more desirable, rather than just acceptable as it has been in the past. Along with better product, Kia – along with its parent Hyundai – offer a generous warranty, and increasing residual values so that they are on par with most of the domestic car makers. They have successfully shed the “junk” image that they were saddles with when they first came into the country. Their booth at SEMA reflects each of these achievements.

Fireball SEMA Day 1! It's Open!!!!
By Fireball Tim
Movie Car Design Master
Clambering over mounds of insane car nuts, I scampered for the doors to SEMA. Elbow clocking, crotch kicking, upper cut chucking. It was a nasty scene. BUT, I managed to get in with only a broken collar bone and a head gash. Only 4 inches long right through the left eye. But don’t worry. I’m ok.
And what did my good eye perceive? … Camaros. Ug. So, while everyone’s posting Camaros, I’ll post other stuff. Like this! My hotel.

Killer Widebody Bentley in the Nutek Wheels Booth
By John Coyle
Deputy Editor
Generally, think people should leave Bentleys alone, but I thought the widebody GT Speed in the Nutek Wheels booth was hot as hell. The Premier kit is all carbon fiber, and costs almost half as much as the car itself, but you can’t argue with its looks. I totally dug how they left the carbon exposed on the tip of the spoiler and around the fuel door, and how all the interior wood has been replaced with carbon. More pics after the jump.

Blown Model A
By Jen Dunnaway
Editor
Check out Bruce Harvey and Pro Comp Custom’s totally over-the-top 1930 Ford, the “Ratical.” It’s built to the gills, packing a Keith Black 528 Hemi topped with a 1472 blower and two 1050 Holley Dominators. This is one of those rides that’d probably get you some dirty looks at Billetproof, but you can’t ignore the artistry: literally every part, every surface on this car, inside and out, is sculpted, smoothed, polished–a rolling showpiece. But does it go? See more pics below the jump.

Truckster in the Painless Booth at SEMA

How about this? Start with a ’78 Ford F-series, add a Model A bed, ’38 Dodge grill, ’37 Chevy headlights and power it with a ’52 Mercury flathead. More pics and video after the jump!

Yellow Crocs? How Humiliating…
By John Coyle
Deputy Editor
I’m not a big fan of uniforms. Seriously, if I wanted to wear a uniform, I would have joined the Marines. But when we come to SEMA, I wear the rock CarDomain shirts as everyone else, and I’m fine with that. But there’s no way in hell I’d put on the getup that the poor bastards over at the Rugged Liner are wearing. Yellow Crocs? Really? It looks like these guys are being punished or something…

Magenta 1972 Chevy Coupe High-Rider
By Jim Brennan
UDMan
The CarDomain staff have been working all week to bring you the most noteworthy cars at SEMA–not just the best, but the worst. I thought I’d already reached the bottom of the barrel with this ugly Prius, but this Chevy hi-riser comes very close to topping that monstrosity. See more…
