Viper vs. Vette: Which Would You Choose?

Ok, so you got $50k burning a hole in your pocket and want a 500 hp sports car. Well then how about a Viper? Or maybe a Z06 Vette? This 2006 Viper SRT-10 comes with a 505 cubic inch V-10 which produces 500 hp and 525 pound-feet of torque. This 2008 Corvette Z06 packs a 427 cubic inch LS7 V-8 which produces 505 hp and 470 pound-feet of torque. The Vette has a bunch of electronic nannies to help keep you out of the ditch. The Viper… not so much. Both examples are low mileage cars and appear to be in excelling condition. Which would you choose?

ima chevy guy but i would definitly hav to go with the viper cuz there a lot rarer than a vette and if you hav a vette ur usually old or a prick or both

Vette, at least it is powered by a motor INTENDED FOR A CAR. The Viper has a TRUCK MOTOR in it. Vette is way sexier too.

The Viper is a joke. Sweeet it has a big engine, that’s all it has to offer, I like to have to good handling, not just be able to drive fast is a straight line, I chose the Vette 150%

I’m sort of ashamed to say I’d take the Viper, being a 2001 C5 ‘Vette owner. But the Viper is much more exotic looking than the C6. I usually judge the comparison like this by which car would be more likely to get on the front row of valet parking, and I just don’t think the C6 would win over the Viper. In fact I think my bright red C5 would come out on top of either of them-looks wise. I dunno, I’m biased I’m sure.

I would definately love to have a viper with its raw power. However, a vette also has nice styling and can handle well around the track. You would have to get used to driving the viper and learn its tendencies.

watch top gear on YouTube and listen 2 what they have 2 say about the viper and the vette,…. i vote Viper, lil take the vette paint it pink and give it to my wife

its all about how the car makes you feel. the vette makes you feel like everyone else. the viper makes you feel like your driving a racecar….illl take the viper thank you

only reason we see more vets then vipers is price id take a viper anyday as long as ur nto a lead foot who needs traction control save the lead foot for the track were the viper owns all day one word for the vet SKIP SHIFT

Oh and not to forget that when the Viper runs out of gas the Corvette will still be running circles around it with a half tank left to burn. No gas guzzler tax on the Chevy.

Yeah, yeah the Viper is cool because you don’t see them all the time. Ever wonder why that is? Well it’s because of one reason, the Corvette is a far better car all the way around. I’ve always liked the Viper but it will never live up to the legend that is the Chevrolet Corvette. Don’t get me wrong, if someone where to give me a Viper I’d gladly accept and really enjoy driving it all the way to the Chevy dealer to trade it in.

Viper!! Because I’d like to test my skills without having to be babysat… The Viper is brutal and unforgiving. It’s a man’s ride through and through. I don’t need sugar in my coffee, and I don’t need traction control or ABS on my ride.

i’m working in the exotic rent a cars in ft. lauderdale fl. we have 3 corvette’s (2 c6 and 1 z06) and 2 viper’s (2 srt10) every body said the corvette is the best!!!!! you feel the viper power but the corvette’s is more fast and confortable that viper’s.
my vote is 4 chevrolet corvette z06!!!!!!!

definitely the viper, not just because im a chrysler man…but i think it looks better, it has like 55lb-ft more torque and ye you do see corvettes too often(because retail is cheaper than the viper and propably because it gets better gas mileage)

Tuff call on this one. Im a chevy guy and own a C5 already so maybe I might pick the viper for a change. As far as looks & performance I like them both but no cars of mine stay stock. So either car would become something different down the road.

The kid in me wants the Viper but realistically I’d choose the Vette because it’s everyday livable while still being a lot of fun. I couldn’t commute or take road trips in a Viper because the suspension is so rock solid it’ll punish you the whole way. Also I’d like some kind of electronic nanny to keep my ass on the road when it’s raining cuz rwd and a ton of power can be a handful I’m not gonna lie. I’ll take the Vette even tho i want the Viper.

I love Corvettes. People you need to drive the two to choose. I was lucky enough to drive 07 ZO6 99 Viper GTS and 05 srt-10. There all crazy sport cars with great looks. The viper is a pure heavy racecar. I dont think great street car. They have a clutch from hell The Zo6 is my pick but its not a great street car but great track car. I would take a 2LT c6 Corvette over both or and 1969 stingray

MOPAR OR NO CAR BEEATCH!!!!!!! Definatly The Viper, vettes are everywhere, theres probably 9 in my town, vipers are 110,000$ but definatly worth it to have a sexy car that no body elese has, plus its a srt-10!!! VERY NICE!!!!

Dude… I love my Vette, all around amazing. But unlike the Corvette, even the Z06, the Viper is just a more rare breed, and i’m a flashy guy so… i’d have to say Viper.
