Cobalt Drives Off with Gas Pump
Tampa Sports Car Examiner
I’ve seen some crazy stuff in my day, but I have never seen someone drive off with a gas pump still attached. Leaving the gas lid open is one thing, but the whole pump? Wow! Captured by a fellow sports car enthusiast, read more about the gas pump drive off at Tampa Sports Car Examiner.

Looks like it was just the nozzle and hose up to the breakoff coupling… a coupling that’s there to seal the breach in case a moron drives off with the nozzle still in the car like the one driving the Cobalt.

I’m sure the “Pump” was left where it was… minus a nozzle.

From experience I have to say this is no easy feat. After a more than 24 hour shift in the field during a military exercise I had to fuel up for the drive home. I filled up while a buddy bought some food and when I pulled off from the pump I heard a kerplunk. I immediately knew what happened. Luckily, the nozzle just slid right out and fell onto the ground. I quickly gathered my composure and replaced the nozzle before any one was the wiser.
