I must say i own a scion (teins xb widebody) a nissan cube,08 audi tt an xtera,1980 firebird and a couple more cars i do like that car domain has a diverse amount of cars and truck owners with different tastes and styles because one persons thing isnt anothers and i fully respect that…as far as scion out here where im from they get plenty recognition. and the companies i do see some of the greats up there and i think thats because if you are out there in the scene
this is whats popular greddy, tein, bbs, volk thats hot out there and has been for a while xds are awesome truck wheels but volks and bbs are whats out there at the shows and mags ect.

@ ZWOLF1: seems like the only one “stirring up trouble” is YOU.
As for my comment, here are the companies: Koni, Tein, Volk, Forgeline, Enkei, along with all the game choices. All these are for the “import tuner” crowd.

My guess is the primary reason for this contest is to create traffic for the advertisers. Good then, because it allows CD to exist, which then provides us (you and me) a means of displaying our work. CD could not exist without both. CD in not a little sandbox anymore, and as such, should be more accountable to both its members and its advertisers by ensuring the polling product it purchases ensures integrity, truth, and openness when our hard earned work is put under public scrutiny. I think that is the intent behind Fortune Teller’s statement.
No contest is going to have a spot, booth, category, or award for every person’s favorite item. Some contests attempt to do so, and for their efforts just about everybody gets a trophy (kinda like every kid in soccer getting a trophy because they were there) which then cheapens its value. 90% of the time when I enter my Z in any show, it basically fits no category. The Import crowd complains because it’s got an American V8, the rodders complain because it’s an import, so what do ya do. We’ll, I enter it anyway because it’s the car that draws the crowds, questions, and comments, NOT because I’m looking to win a trophy or something. It may not win in a judge’s eye, but that’s not why I enter the car.
In a vote, vastly differing tastes, backgrounds, interests, and opinions are brought together to provide what should be an more generalized overall winner. What it should NOT do is allow manipulation that subsequently gives a flawed or incorrect appearance of broad support.

JoeCool97Formula -”This must be the official ricer poll going by what companies are in it.
Joe, Please take a moment to enlighten us as to which companies you believe to be “ricer” companies, and why. Individually would be fine.
I’m curious to learn if you have a basis for this comment, or if you made it just to stir up trouble.
Oh, and I agree that these polls should be terminated until which time they can be done fairly.

This must be the official ricer poll going by what companies are in it. And as for for the wheel companies… where is KMC? I and a lot of others love the XD series we own. It’s probably the most popular truck rim right now.

Any thoughts before I post?
The point of this exercise was NOT to bash Scion.
In the manufactures poll Ford, GM, and Nissan, were all within 10 points of each other (20% – 30%) with Scion at 5%.
This presented a fairly level playing field to illustrate the simple ability for someone to manipulate the poll. In the course of 1 hour (even in the 8th day of the poll) Scions’s ratings were raised from 5% to 50% making it the leader.
The point of this exercise WAS to show that this poll can be corrupted, and was corrupted on Monday (perhaps before). In the SOTY category in the 6th day of the poll, the Mustangs ratings climbed 30% in about a 6 hour period starting at noon. Again on Tuesday substantial gains were established in it’s rankings.
If competitive polling is to be conducted it must contain the tools necessary to maintain the integrity of the poll, and control fraudulent multiple votes from the same ISP. This polling software is economical and designed specifically for this purpose. This poll should be thrown out and conducted at a point when honest results can be achieved.

I may be partial towards Scion, hence I own one, but Scion’s don’t get enough recognition and credit they deserve. Some think cheap, entry level, slow, a girls car, blah..blah..blah, some rides may or may not appeal to some, but to knock someone for owning one of these rides is ludacris. Such judgemental people in this world we live and such negativity. It seems that (Cardomain), is a place that everyone has to come to piss in everyones Wheaties. The childish behavior, immaturity, and Haters have shown to be a huge pimple in everyone’s eyes, and now those pimples are slowly being popped one by one.
There are so many rides on this site that I have seen, and rated that haven’t been getting the credit they deserve, but instead being down rated only to put the liars, cheaters and bullshitters on top. With the new year soon upon us, we will see the true automotive enthusiasts rise up once again, and all the those haters find some other site to raise hell on. Plus it makes no bit of sence to me why those who have already won Show Off Of The Week are being nominated again, why don’t we give those other rides who haven’t won a chance to be recognized.

This 45% increase is to illustrate the ability to manipulate this poll. This entry level polling product lacks the features necessary to ensure a fair outcome in the SOTY award. You fellows have worked hard on your cars, and represented this site well, you deserve better.
You deserve the “Peoples Choice” without outside manipulation!

Does it have anything to do with what you leave for Santa on the table, or as a previous posting (a crumb offered to the the CarDomain folks), an alternative foodstuff to rice.

Dec 30, 2009 at 7:27 pm
WAY!!! How do you do dat? I guess it’s not as hard to get 50% as it would seem! How could that be? Boy Mr. Fortune Teller…errr…Mr. Ben Dover, you sure were right. This poll really is the bee’s knees! Who knew Scion had the most exciting enthusiastic vehicle line up. You sho ah smart!!!

Wow – seems like we have some hate going on. Let’s keep it real guys – first of all – my car is about as ‘rice’ as apple pie and all of the cars on here are nice – I’d bet money a lot nicer than any of yours. (Those making negative comments) Heck, 3 of the 5 nominees are Ford powered so where do you get ‘rice’ anyway? That Murdered F150 is SICK – so is the Z – I’d happily love to have either one in my garage!

Hey everyone. I need to apologize to Pat. There was a misunderstanding that we both addressed and rectified. He’s a cool guy and deserves to have his truck honored in such esteem.

That last one was hard. I wish I could vote for all of them (besides the F150). Not a fan of trucks (no matter how well done).
