Did You Get Your Car Anything For Xmas?
By Jen Dunnaway

It’s become standard practice to pick up holiday gifties for the pets, but has automotive gift-giving caught on yet? My Eagle pretty much broke the bank this year: it got a full front and rear differential rebuild at Randy’s Ring and Pinion, with both pumpkins re-geared to 3.08 for a slightly better launch than its stock 2.73′s. Not exactly a planned purchase–but when I found that the front diff was ready to come apart after 175,000 hard miles, I decided I might as well go the whole hog and do the gear swap front and rear. I was lucky enough to have boyfriend, mom, and sister pitch in to help defray the colossal expense, though still, I kinda feel the Eagle is set for about the next ten Christmases or so.
How about you? Did your ride get any presents this year?

MellondOne’s got rolled gold on the brain.

anyway, my rides got a new toy, given to me (I didn’t pick it out).
-
I think its a Mr. Clean car wash thingy. Y’know, it takes the cartridges, soaps up the car and has the sheeting action for drying, yada yada.
-
I suspected it was a toy whenever I ran across it on store shelves. Gave it a try down in Georgia after Christmas day. Suspicion confirmed, it’s a toy. 3 stream settings, two of them include soap and drying schtuff. Washing/rinsing setting is a mediocre spread stream.

I’ve had A LOT of trouble with crappy hose nozzles (EVERY nozzle has been a serious P.O.S. over the last 15 years) I’m holding out a little hope at least this thing’s durable as a nozzle… a very bulky nozzle, but a nozzle nonetheless.

Is there any U.S. company that makes quality hose nozzles (and hoses for that matter). Everything seems to be Chinese-made crap anymore. Just getting a decent hose and nozzle would be a great present for myself.

Well, my ’93 Dodge Spirit (Cristina) is getting a manual transmission swap. My ’00 Buick Century (Sylvia) got some R&R meaning oil change, tire rotation, and a detail job at a full service car wash. She also got a set of rubber floor mats. My ’66 Mustang (Chloe) is getting ready for a much needed restoration. She hasn’t had a facelift in since she was new. I didn’t get my ’92 Dodge Spirit R/T (Lana) anything, but my buddy did. We exchanged gifts. I got him an upper strut tower brace for his ’90 Shelby Daytona (Jullian), and he got Lana a car care kit. It’s pretty much standard practice for me and a couple friends to not only buy for our cars (which we happen to affectionately name) for Christmas, but we also celebrate thier birthdays as well. If we don’t know the vehicle’s birthday, we celebrate it on the day the breed was launched. I celebrate my Mustang’s B-day on April 17 for instance, because that was the first day the Mustang was on sale.

LOL! This is a funny caption. The other day I was looking for a used car los angeles for my daughter and I came across a pinto! I was laughing so hard to see that they still had those out there, I just had to stop and hop in the car. I messed around with the salesman and told him that I was really interested, but really?
