Check this wild Japanese stop-motion video. I’m still in awe. The models are great, and this guy must have an amazing collection of whatever they call Hot Wheels over there!

Drinking and Driving: Chris Harris Goes 0-100MPH in a 911 Turbo

By John Coyle

Deputy Editor

There are plenty of jokes to be made about Coke and speed here, but I’m going to let those dogs be. Let’s concentrate on the fact that Porsche’s 911 Turbo will go from nought to 60 in 7.9 seconds, and is so easy to handle that Chris Harris just did it while drinking a Coca-Cola. Bravo, Stuttgart. And Bravo, Harris. Enjoy.

Big Movie Car Day with Fireball

By Fireball Tim

Movie Car Design Master

Yea, big day on the movie car front. My buddy, Fly, and his cohort Pat Devereux from Top Gear Magazine came by the shop to shoot some stuff for an upcoming issue. (Hope I didn’t break the camera.)

Also, first trailer for Disney’s Sorcerer’s Apprentice featuring a beauty Rolls Royce built by CVS. Sweet ride that morphs into something else. Looks like a good flick. I’m wiped.

Daytona in the Barn: The End, After the Barns

By Ryan Brutt

HemiPwr70

Our little expedition wasn’t done finding cool cars in barns. The closest larger town was Canton, and it was still quite a drive to get back there. We were all starving and dirty. So I had never been to a Maid-Rite, so we stopped in and I treated Shad and Scott to lunch. It was the least I could do for such an incredible morning.

We sat at the table and watched the people trip over themselves walking past the Superbird, and people taking pictures. It is always fun having a cool car. Scott showed me where the old Canton Train Station was with old Whitcomb engine, and then drove me past the old International Plant where they built International Vehicles. I guess after International left there years ago and it was a used tire storage place and started on fire, went on burning for something like a week.

Bonus Hemmings Find of the Day – Half a Fury

By Dan Strohl

Hemmings

The only thing I’magonna say about this 1970 Plymouth Sport Fury currently for sale on Hemmings.com is that, traditionally, Six Pack refers to Dodge’s triple-carb setup, while Six Barrel refers to Plymouth’s version. Offered for $45,000 out of Renton, Washington. From the seller’s description:

1970 Plymouth Sport Fury GT, super rare V code 440+6 car, PH23VOF143370, has original fender tag, door sticker and broadcast sheet, car is black with black int and white strobe stripes, column shift bench seat car, still wearing whats left of its original paint and is 1 of 11 known real V codes, now the bad, car needs total restoration! car is rusty and was wrecked in RF early in life, non original but correct F 440 HP block and 3410672 6 pack trans, have complete 6 pack set up, have lots of NOS for the car, including some sheet metal, H 70-15 polyglas tires, trim lenses etc, probably the only V code fury GT in this color combo.. this is a big project but once restored will be the only one on the planet like it..so if you are seeking that car that is so elusive most dont even know of their existance this may be for you.

The Psycho Wheelstander Pulling Truck

By Brian Lohnes

BangShift.com

George Stinnett’s Psycho Ford Econoline pulling truck was one of the most famous pulling machines of the 1980s. Built just like an old school drag racing wheelstander, the truck would hike the front end sky high, plant the big Dick Cepek Giant Puller tires into the pulling surface, and tug the sled.

Although the truck had “Ford Power” painted on the nose, it was sporting a blown big-block Chevy engine. It also had red plastic windows and a cab-mounted strobe light that gave off a cool effect when the body was lowered.

Some guys are trying to find the original truck, presumably to restore and thrash. Check out their search here.

This video rules because it not only shows of the truck, but it also has a rockin’ Ted Nugent sound track.
