CarDomain Obscure Muscle Car Parking Lot – The Ford Capri Perana
By Jim Brennan
UDMan
Welcome to the CarDomain Obscure Muscle Car Parking Lot, a feature in which we try and introduce you to muscle cars you may never have known about, as well as re-define what a muscle car can be. As we discovered last time, fire-breathing V-8 Muscle Cars are not the exclusive property of the States. A great example was the Chevy Firenza built in South Africa during the early 70′s. However, Ford of South Africa also had a V8 powered Muscle Car that was available to the South African Enthusiast, converted by Basil Green Motors of Johannesburg. Introducing the Ford Capri Perana.

AMS Performance EVO Catches on Fire
Tampa Sports Car Examiner
Due to a power steering line rupture, the AMS Performance EVO was caught on fire recently during a Buttonwillow Super Lap Battle time attack. Running an engine at 9,000 RPM’s has it’s toll on everything; including peripherals. Read more about the fire at Tampa Sports Car Examiner.
Revolution All Carbon FD
By Speedhunters
Car Culture At Large
Should I even add words? This amazing all carbon Revolution FD has been seen doing some laps at the recent RE-Wars round 4 at Tsukuba. I can’t wait for Dino’s coverage of the Super Lap Battle at the same circuit. Will this FD take the crown or will some of the other contenders like the Mspeed R34 (my favorite) be faster?

A little nitrous goes a long way in the combustion chamber, and when things go wrong, they can go really wrong. Just look at what happened to this poor Camaro. Talk about terrible…

Update: GReddy Garage Sale to Take Place in Actual Garage
By John Naderi
StreetFire.net
They say it never rains in sunny Southern California but who are they exactly and why is it that they know so little about meteorology? On this coming Saturday, December 12 the annual GReddy garage sale will take place where you can get all sorts of mad, crazy deals on GReddy goods. And while Ole Ma Nature plans to rain on the parade (or garage sale as it were) GReddy reports that the show (ahem, garage sale) will go on as planned. In order to keep everything rain-free GReddy will move the festivities inside. Wait, this is a garage sale that takes place within an actual garage, what are the odds? Check out GReddy.com for more info or you can follow GReddy’s Twitter account here.

ANGRIER on the Cover of Hemmings Muscle Machines
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
Never one to be subtle, Mike Musto, AKA Mr. Angry, completed a 2.5 year build on project “ANGRIER”, a 1969 Dodge Daytona clone. The outlandish shape, matte black paint and 18 inch wheels with pizza pie size brakes rotors have some Mopar purists in an uproar, while others are totally diggin’ it.
Either way, the guys at Hemmings Muscle Machines took notice and slapped it on the cover for the their January 2010 issue. It’s on newsstands now, so check it out!

Caption Contest: This Week’s Winner!
By John Coyle
Deputy Editor
OK, I have to admit that all the Matrix references caught me off guard here. Maybe it’s because I only saw the first one? Anyway, I almost picked tone7ate9′s submission, because the Kanye West/Tiger Woods reference caught me completely off guard, but in the end, I had to give it to trillwill, who came up with; “I can see your problem from here…” Simple, to the point, and funny—nice work man! Tune in tomorrow for the next installment of our smashingly good Caption Contest!

Up, Up and Away: Fleeing Driver Makes a Massive Jump!
By John Coyle
Deputy Editor
Talk about a spectacular ending! While running from the cops, the driver of this truck left the road and hit a drainage ditch at speed. He was approximately 20 feet in the air when he nailed a tree. I’m glad nobody—other than the driver, probably—was hurt, and I’m super-glad this was captured on video. Enjoy. MSNBC via Jalopnik
Saab sale news: Chinese may buy some assets, others interested in whole company
By Brian Lohnes
BangShift.com
Saab has been a hot potato for GM as of late. The company started a deal to sell the brand to a Swedish sports car manufacturer but it fell apart in the late innings, then there was discussion with the Swedish government that ultimately went nowhere, and now there is talk the Chinese may be buying some of the assets. GM Interim CEO Ed Whitacre has said that he’s open to trying to sell the division until the end of the year. After that it would simply be shut down.
The Chinese company BAIC is not interested in buying everything involved with Saab but is interested in tooling and technology. Apparently the plan is to produce an older generation of Saabs to be sold domestically in China. This news comes from an ABC news story.
There have been other interested parties looking to buy the entire operation from soup to nuts. There have been no specifics about who those people are and what they have been offered.
There are still 3,000 people in Sweden that work for Saab. We hope that they can keep their jobs despite the impending shake up.
