Ken Block On Ice

By Jen Dunnaway

Editor

This awesome new footage of Ken Block drifting his new Ford Fiesta on icy Michigan roads really makes me wish for some decent snow-wheelin’ weather here in the mushy Northwest. It also makes me wish NASCAR would have their Sprint Cup teams throw on some Blizzaks and run a race in the mountains, like in that beer commercial. Can you imagine a field of 40+ cars ripping it up around those turns?

SEMA Show Truck Craps Out

By John Coyle

Deputy Editor

While it was on the floor at SEMA, all this lifted 4×4 had to do was look burly, which is good. Because when it tried to tackle a tiny little jump, the suspension on the passenger side collapsed completely. What the hell happened here? Did the builders assign that half of the job to their resident stoner? It cracks me up how all the guys kind of meander over with their hands in their pockets—that body language just screams “not my fault.”

Lotus Esprit Murders the TR6 on CarDomain

Man, this week’s eBay Motors Showdown was a blowout. The Triumph only got three or four votes. I’d probably take the TR6, too, but I’m a sucker for British Racing Green and love old British roadsters. But this Giugiaro-designed Lotus is definitely timeless.

The 2009 ADRL Season in Photos

By Brian Lohnes

BangShift.com

If you’re going to have a conversation about professional drag racing these days, it damn well better include the ADRL. As the fastest growing and (in our opinion) most exciting drag racing series in the US, the ADRL has been dominating the door slammer headlines for the last several years. We’re lucky enough to be pals with Ian Tocher, the VP of Publications for the organization. He’s a BangShift.com member as well! Ian was cool enough to supply us with a kick ass selection of photos from the 2009 season.

As you’ll see in the 50 gallery photos, there are plenty of thrills and chills to be had at one of the organization’s door slammer-centric events. You’ll see some bikes in the photos as well. They have an insane motorcycle class to go along with the several door car classes they feature.

These photos were shot by a bunch of different photogs and they need to be recognized for their work. The photographers included: Blair Ball, Greg Bunsold, Earnest Burwell, Dave DeAngelis, Joe Lorenzini, Joe McHugh, Roger Richards, Gary Rowe, Tom Schiltz, Ian Tocher, Joanne Walter, and Mark Walter.

To learn more about the series, hit up the ADRL website.
