That is my car and the whole story was not posted. The car is a theft recovery shell with a Certificate of Destruction title. The car is a purpose built HPDE track car. It can not be title, it can not be registered, it can not be driven on the streets. The paint was in horrible condition after sitting for so long. I brought the car back to life and it now shines on the race track every chance I get to take it out. This is one of the lowest budget Type R builds ever done and the car is known greatly within the Integra Type R community. It was also featured in the September 2009 Honda Tuning with their coverage of the yearly Integra Type R Expo at Autobahn Country Club. Cheers, Brad

To answer the question.. it would be a no.. most likely a hell no. honestly dont think thats a real type-r, people that knows the value of a real Type-R would not do such work to it..not “JDM” like.. 1 thumbs up for the paint job, 2 thumbs up if it had a clear.. but the job looks awesome… some real skills right there… just my opinion, dont take it to the heart now…

The only problem I see with the car is that it’s rocking the Honda badge in the front, but it’s still got the Acura badging in the back. Otherwise, I think this was a totally badass idea. It’s not everyday you see an Integra “Reppin da streetz”. Well done :)

To each his own. If I had the time I would do that to my wagon and still race with it.

I wouldn’t do it. But if it was done with the right paint and clear coat it wouldn’t look so BOOT-Legged!..imo.

http://www.cardomain.com/id/ericbambam rated every F-150 a 1 star and he is saying “CarDomain is showing ratings given now! It shows the haters for who they truly are as well as who showed your ride love. NOBODY’S ride deserves only 1 star.” Looks like someone deserves whats coming to him.

It’s all about what a person likes, who cares what other people think. I personally like it, Graffiti is an art form. And this is a real creative design on a car.

I really like it, not that it’s anything special these days anyway. I’d say the only reason people are throwing a fit is it’s such a rare Honda/Acura. I even like the yellow wheels, mainly because I don’t see any other colours that suit it.

here’s the cardomain page for that car http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2577207

Thats crazy. THey did a good job with that one. That was brave of the owner to spray paint his car, but it turned out nicely. Well done.

I like graffiti and love the type r, it could of be done differently. maybe not the whole car? but to answer the question no, i would not do it.

It looks cool. If the owner wants it like that its all good. Throw some gloss over it and you have a pretty cool car

Jan 20, 2010 at 12:52 pm

Being a type R is no big deal 2 me. That car isnt real exciting to me anyway. It looks ok though a lot better than the stupid rust fad. THats my opinoin. Im surprised they didnt prep the surface first they just went at it. I suppose its not a big deal 2 them when it starts chipping off, just grab a can of dupont and its on.

I think it’s gorgeous.

Rare, schmare. It will never get stolen now.

I think it looks good, couple clearcoats and there you go.

GTwildfire
Jan 19, 2010 at 5:25 pm

Since I’m becoming an increasingly-old fart from the Suburbs, it’s not something I’d do… but I recognize the talent, and there definitely IS talent, that went into painting this.

Since it’s on a car and not on the side of a bridge abutment, WTH… I think it’s allright. Art is art until it’s trespassing with the intent to coat with rattlecans.

quickzcav
Jan 19, 2010 at 4:52 pm

if it was done with airbrush by a paintshop ( so no drips or overspray)and clear coated. and i would have put the emblems on top of the paint job. other than that it looks cool. and who cares if its a typeR its just paint. what about typeR’s that race and get banged up on the track?

KWH924
Jan 19, 2010 at 3:55 pm

I guess no one is familiar with how rare a type r really is not they would care to know beyond their domestics anyway. I hope one day the car can be painted the original championship white but until then I hope I never see this car in real life.

lilredchev
Jan 19, 2010 at 3:44 pm

I think that looks really good, minus the yellow wheels. Well done

TheDotCommunist
Jan 19, 2010 at 3:33 pm

I don’t see any problem with it. Seems like they had fun. Its only an Acura, its not like they didn’t make millions of them.
