Round the ‘Ring With Paddy!

By John Coyle

Deputy Editor

The car is a 500HP R34 GT-R, and the track is obviously the ‘Ring. But it’s the passenger’s non-stop, withering critique of his buddy’s technique that makes this clip. Warning: If you really love birds, or just despise the masterful use of profanity, it’s probably not for you.

I don’t remember seeing this Lambo-powered Mustang at SEMA in 2007. I do remember when they sold off the Lambo bits on eBay last year. Well, now the Tractorri is for sale! More pics after the jump, and you can see them all on Jameslist. Via Jalopnik

$200,000 1985 CAMARO IROC on eBay

By Brian Lohnes

BangShift.com

We didn’t screw up on the dollar amount in the title. This is a 1985 IROC Z28 sporting a TPI 305, an automatic transmission, 747 miles, and the signatures of nearly 100 actors, musicians, and celebrities who were at Live Aid in 1985. This is the motherload of autograph collections, and one hell of a clean Camaro.

Live Aid was a global event held back in July of 1985. In the extensive listing for this Camaro, the seller claims that 1.4 billion people saw the various concerts that went on around the world to raise awareness about hunger. It was an amazing event made even more astounding when you think about the fact that it happened well before social networking, the internet, etc.

Back to the Camaro. GM was a major backer of Live Aid and decided to have a contest to give away a Camaro that was to be autographed by all the famous folks involved with the show. GM would take the car and show it, they called it the Drive-Aid signature car. It was given away to a lucky contest winner in 1986 at the second Live Aid. A few months ago that owner contacted a business that deals in specialty cars, and here we are.

There were actually two identical cars, both signed. GM sold one a few years ago at auction and it is now hidden away in a private collection. This is the car used in all the promotional materials.

This is the first time the car is up for public sale. It really is a cool and awesome story. All you need to do is scrape up $199,900 and it could be yours today! See the most famous muscle car in the history of rock ‘n’ roll on eBay!

Hemmings Find of the Day – 1962 GAZ 69M

By Dan Strohl

Hemmings

How did a GAZ ultimately make its way to Kentucky? How did a Bulgarian engineer come up with the parts to restore it? Should I sell my left or right kidney to come up with the quick cash for it? These are the questions you should be asking yourself when viewing this 1962 GAZ 69M for sale on Hemmings.com. From the seller’s description:

This GAZM started its life in Russia but was soon sold to the Bulgarian military. After serving a peaceful life in that service it was purchased by a enthusiast/engineer in Bulgaria who painstakingly restored the GAZ to its original specifications. This was done over a one and a half year period using OEM and NOS parts throughout. No time or expense spared. I could go on and on about the details of the restoration process but suffice it to say all is tidy and correct. You may contact me for further details and photos. This vehicle has traveled only 200 km since the full restoration.

I think I speak for the majority when I say that I can’t get enough of Grant Scott’s AE71 Corolla. Here’s a nice little clip of the car set to the sounds of Hendrix.

CarDomain Obscure Muscle Car Parking Lot: The 1973-74 Buick Century Gran Sport

By Jim Brennan

UDMan

Welcome to another edition of the CarDomain Obscure Muscle Car Parking Lot where we discover hidden gems that you may have never known about, and I try and convince you that they are worthy of the muscle car designation. There is no doubt that Buick made muscle during the later half of the 60s, right up to 1972 with the Skylark GS and GSX. These were deemed as the gentleman’s muscle car, one that spoke softly and carried a big stick. However, Buick was about to introduce a new line of mid-sized cars, and they dusted off an old nameplate, Century. They didn’t completely ignore the performance and youth market though, and that is where this model comes in, the Buick Century Gran Sport, with the 455, for 1973 and 74.

Car builders from around the world gather once a year in Pomona, CA at the Grand National Roadster Show and compete for the coveted “America’s Most Beautiful Roadster” Award (AMBR). This year’s competitors included Rick Dore, who built an amazing 1936 Auburn for Metallica’s James Hetfield and a gorgeous ’32 roadster from Chip Foose. However, this year’s AMBR award goes to a hand-built roadster from Scott’s Hot Rods ‘N Customs. Check out the 2010 AMBR winner.
