Fake Or Real? 2010 Camaro Snow Performance
Tampa Sports Car Examiner
GM’s latest video release about the 2010 Camaro shows it effortlessly pushing through snow despite it’s sour snow performance history. Due to convenient cuts and video editing of the footage below, the 2010 Camaro may possibly appear to be better than it actually is. What do you think? Read the full comparison at Tampa Sports Car Examiner.
Fireball Heads to Vegas for Diecast Coolness
By Fireball Tim
Movie Car Design Master
Last week I was invited by the doods at Diecast Space to the 2010 Diecast Super Convention in super cool Vegas… baby. It was a wicked weekend with friends and diecast car collectors. Plus, we had an induction ceremony for the Hall of Fame. Got to hang with buds, Carson Lev and Chip Foose. (You know Chip, right? He builds cool cars, too.) We were in shock at all the diecast coolness everywhere.
It was a big weekend with the likes of Don “The Snake” Prudhomme, Hot Wheels designer extraordinaire Larry Wood, Diecast Audio’s Jeff Glasson and more. I bought WAY more than necessary… as usual. My wife’s gonna kill me. More shots on my blog.
BIG NEWS! Something cool is coming in the next day or so from Fireball Tim. It’s FAST, FURIOUS and you should put it smack dab in your living room! But for now, let’s just say it’s a SECRET. T-Minus….

Caption Contest: This Week’s Winner!
By John Coyle
Deputy Editor
I have to say, I think the fact that Toyota was called before Congress is just stupid. It’s not that I don’t think the company should be held accountable for its mistakes, but this is obviously—so obviously—just an excuse for a bunch of do-nothing bureaucrats to be on television. Those people should be ashamed of themselves, but I don’t think elected officials are capable of that. Sorry for the rant, if you watch this, you’ll forget all about it. Anyway, this week’s winner is TheMover who came up with; “The D.O.T. really needs to expand this middle lane..This is ridiculous!” Congrats man! Tune in tomorrow for the next installment of our always-on Caption Contest!

This Guy Can Virtually Recreate Any Car
By Ted Berner
GTwildfire
Those of you who are familiar with my presence in CarDomain, my occasional rants about EV technology development or frequent comments, may not know I’m a computer graphics artist. At 3d-community.com where C.G. artists post and critique artwork, a site I’ve long frequented as “cadavatar”, another member “Adit1001” has pumped out for years picture after picture of some of the most realistic, beautifully re-created cars by modeling and rendering them using 3D Studio Max.
Curved body surfaces are hard as hell to model to perfection. Just like on real cars, high gloss finishes vengefully show the slightest of imperfections. Consistently good lighting and camera orientation takes skill, but Adit1001, a.k.a. Adrian Tiba scores 10 out of 10 consistently for his work, and it all happens on his computer. How does he do it? Don’t ask me. I do architecture and other stuff. Modeling cars is out of my league…

All Ford Day 2010
By Ron Honig
WaytooFurious
Sunday was a great day. The weather was great and to make things even better the local Kiwanis club was running the 2010 All Ford Day. Celebrating 50 years of the Ford Falcon the event had all sorts of Fords on display. One of the cars that really made me chuckle was this orange Cortina. It was a really nice looking car, but somehow I don’t think the owner is trying to keep it as a sleeper. The only downer for me was that the organisers had a jazz band playing. Sorry if your a fan but jazz music just drives me nuts!! Luckily there were over a 1000 cars on display so I was able to get away from the music for most of the day. More pics after the jump.
A Big 4X4 Ford Truck That’s Way Too Quick
By Brian Lohnes
BangShift.com
What kind of lunatic builds an all-aluminum 511ci Ford FE engine and plugs it into a huge, lifted 4×4 truck for the purposes of drag racing it? A BangShift.com approved lunatic, that’s who! As you’ll see in the video, this truck has big slicks mounted on all four corners and it sounds totally awesome.
Oh yeah, it goes like stink too. 6.90s in the eighth-mile is moving for this large hunk of Ford. Dig the strip as well. Hypoxia Dragway in Wyoming is as low key and stripped down as they come, and it claims to be the strip at the highest elevation in the USA at 6,600 feet, making the Ford even more impressive. We love it.
Hemmings Find of the Day – 1957 Chevrolet Corvette
By Dan Strohl
Hemmings
Corvettes can sometimes get overplayed, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t certain variations that require you to snap to and pay attention, such as this 1957 fuelie Corvette, one of the rare airbox cars, currently for sale on Hemmings.com. From the seller’s description:
This car is complete with an outstanding documentation such as: Race reports in various publications including – Sports Cars – Competition Press – Road and Track – New York Times – Cumberland News – Motor Sports – Syracuse News RACE HISTORY: This is the most extensively raced and winning 57 Corvette ever. Sold new to Bob Mouat in Baltimore, Maryland and raced straight out of the showroom continuously until 1965. The car competing successfully against drivers such as Don Yenko and Dick Thompson on east coast tracks including Watkins Glen, VIR, Bridgehampton and Marlboro. It featured heavy-duty springs and shocks, finned brake drums with cerametallix linings, vented backing plates and cooling scoops. Of special note was an air-duct system that ran into the fender wells and through the rocker panels to feed the cold air to the rear brakes. In 1957 a total of 51 Corvettes were built with this option. Of the 43 Corvettes equipped with this option that were eventually sold in 1957 only 23 are known to exist today.

DR30 Skyline RS-Turbo
By Speedhunters
Car Culture At Large
I have had a thing for the R30 for a while now. The more I see these angular eighties Skylines the more I like them and this particular example sporting massive overfenders has to be one of the coolest I have come across. I have no idea who it belongs to but from the license plate it’s from southern Japan. Absolutely stunning!
