Photo of the Day

By John Coyle

I’ve always been fascinated with the cars of the Soviet Union and East Germany, so I was stoked to see that MicroManz is driving his 1981 Trabant around Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Sure, the build quality might be sub-Yugo, and the 600cc two-stroke isn’t going to win any drag races, but I dig the styling of these little guys. If you have a suggestion for Photo of the Day, IM me!

Stoppie Leads to Nasty Collision

The beginning of this clip is some chest thumping about how bad ass you have to be to ride a crotch rocket, which is kind of silly. But the crash? That’s pretty brutal. Things happen fast on a bike…

One Lap of America Day 1: 716 miles, 5 Tanks of Fuel and No Tickets

By Mike Musto

RideLust.com

It’s now 11:03pm and I’m sitting on my bed at the Quality Inn in South Bend, Indiana and to be perfectly honest, I’m bushed. We left Queens, NY this morning at about 6:15 am which was a bit later than we wanted to leave but hey… shit happens right? In our caravan we had my buddy Todd’s Ferrari F430 as well as a Corvette Z06 driven by another close friend, Carmine. Now obviously the Ferrari has NO storage space and although the Corvette is a bit better it’s no storage closet. What this meant was that the Charger was going to be the pack mule for the trip. Now, aside from tools, spare parts and racing gear, we also packed in 10 days worth of clothes in 4 duffel bags and then jammed everything into the trunk and back seat. Combine this with my 240 lbs. and my co-driver Chris’s 260 lbs. and you could say that we were at our limit.

The 24th Mooneyes Street Car Nationals From Tokyo, Japan

By Brian Lohnes

BangShift.com

When we think of Japanese car show photos, the last things on our mind are hot rods, street machines, and muscle cars. Images of small cars that have been oddly modified usually fill our head. Thanks to the now worldwide network of BangShift.com photo contributors, we’re going to put those thoughts to rest. This gallery of photos from the 24th Mooneyes Street Car Nationals held April 25th in Tokyo, Japan, will blow your mind. There is some truly bitchin’ iron in the land of the rising sun.

James Lisle, a Tokyo-based BangShifter, busted out his camera and sent us more than 200 photos from the show. The photos are great and the cars are shockingly awesome!

A huge thanks for James for sharing the photos!

Cute Product Alert: Cadillac Bling

By Jen Dunnaway

This gives me a great idea for a arts-and-crafts project: pick up a shiny Wal Mart handbag, pocket a junkyard Caddy hood ornament, grab your handy needle and thread, and ta-da: you’ve got the exact same thing, minus the dubiously-authentic GM Licensed Product stickers and the $65.00 price tag. Too bad I don’t do arts and crafts. Spied while strolling Santee Alley in LA’s garment district with StreetFire office guru Michelle.

Photo of the Day

Though Rob and I have always agreed that the ’80s Ferrari Testarossa is hideous,  I never understood his appreciation for the Daytona. But I recently watched the episode of Top Gear where Richard Hammond drives the classic Italian GT along the Riviera, and I finally got it. Absolutely gorgeous. Thanks to PhotoCarsOnline for today’s pic!
