Today’s pick is from John Naderi’s Formula Drift Long Beach photos. The sideways Mustang is of course awesome, but the Port-o-potty in the background is what makes this shot. Nicely framed! Definitely a beautiful Mustang doing a beautiful drift. I sense a WWII fighter plane theme going on with the paint. I also felt like I’ve seen that hood before but didn’t know where. At first I thought it was reminiscent of the ’08 GT500KR, but the KR’s hood was more robust with the twin scoops, and then it hit me, this hood is from the ’03 Mustang GT concept car!! The hood has a beefier cowl than the concept, but it’s good to finally see some parts from the concept be moved over to production with little modification. I remember when Ford released the glass roof option last year. That was pretty cool as both the GT Concept and the Giugiaro Mustang had glass roofs.
