Fireball Says, TRON 3 Confirmed!
By Fireball Tim
Movie Car Design Master
Walt Disney Pictures has hired the two writers from Lost to write Tron 3! Good news, because Tron Legacy did so well…. oh wait, Tron Legacy isn’t even out yet! Seems Disney thinks that the Lightcycles will sell well through Harley Davidson. Oops. Did I just reveal something? Um, I mean through Segway. Yea, that’s better.
Now THAT would be awesome. At any rate, Disney seems pretty confident that Tron Legacy will knock our socks off. I’m there. Especially if I get a FREE Lightcycle through Fruit Loops!
Coming to theaters on December 17th, 2010.
Car Domain Blogger Wins First Episode of Forum Wars TV Show
By Rob Krider
Racerboy
Talking trash on car forums is a rite of passage for most car guys of the new millennium. Well, The Forum Wars has changed all of that. You see, this show mandates you gotta put your right foot where your mouth is. You think you and your ride are the baddest thing to ever hit a racetrack? Then do it in front of the cameras against an equal competitor.
I had to do just that after talking smack on Stangnet.com about how my friend’s car, a 2008 Ford Mustang Shelby GT, owned by Steve Kuhtz, was the shi… stuff. The show pitted me against a SoCal drifter in a Nissan representing My350Z.com. We did battle on the drag strip and a road course to determine the overall champion.
I’m happy to report that, thanks to the boys at Shelby building a great car and a little last minute help from Hoosier Tires, Carbotech Brake Pads and I/O Port Racing Supplies, this Car Domain blogger came out the winner! The Forum Wars presented by Royal Purple is featured in one minute segments on the Speed Channel, with full episodes viewable online. Check out Episode One at www.forumwars.tv.

Watch as a dumb driver gets stuck in the path of a fast train after the railroad crossing gates come down. I love how the passenger bails and takes off running halfway through the ordeal. Via FAILBlog.
Behind the Scenes of Tanner Foust’s Street Drift
By John Coyle
Deputy Editor
A couple of weeks back, Rockstar Energy Drink dropped this dope clip of Tanner Foust taking his V8 Scion tC up LA’s legendary Mulholland Drive. As you can imagine, setting up this video was a big production, and Matt Farah and the guys from the Smoking Tire were on hand get some footage about how the shoot went down. Tanner’s people wanted TST to sit on this footage for a couple of weeks before they released it, but now the embargo is up, so we can all check it out. Enjoy.

I Love Cars
By Chris Trout
Troutster52
I LOVE cars. For those of you that suffer from paralyzing fear of commitment, my admission of affection using the “L” word that may seem like a bold statement. For many of you, using that powerful phraseology and using it with such simple and convicted confidence may seem brash. However, I embrace the word and most of its implicit significance. When I say most, I mean of course to exclude the physical parts of a loving relationship. In every other respect, I feel that I can say that I love cars. I am thinking about them constantly, and I grow more emotionally attached to the ones I own as time goes on.
I would say that my love for cars is very similar to the way a man loves his dog. When a dog is young, it is spirited and pleasant to look at. Everyone is enamored with a brand new puppy–they want to touch it, stare at it, and take pictures of it. That is not unlike a deep coat of paint on a shiny new car. A brand new puppy is cherished by its owner and coveted by others. Both a puppy and a new car spur the same kind of paramount pride in ownership. A dog person likes most dogs but is proud that the glorious ball of hair and happiness at the end of his leash belongs to him and nobody else. A car guy can appreciate many cars for various reasons but at the end of the day, the car they have the most genuine affection for is their own. I would love to own a Ford GT, but the green 2000 F150 that parks in my driveway belongs to me. More…

Was it all a dream or possibly a fantasy perhaps? We just got back from a star-studded Hollywood-style premiere. Hit the jump to see more up skirt shots of this sexy beast.

Redline Kicks Off The 2010 Time Attack Season
By John Naderi
StreetFire.net
After Japan’s famed Tsukuba circuit no track is more widely recognized for time attacks than Buttonwillow Raceway Park, located in bucolic Buttonwillow, a mere hop, skip and a two-hour drive north of LA. Buttonwillow’s 2.6-mile CW #13 configuration seemed the perfect venue for the Redline Time Attack to launch its 2010 series. While Redline does not normally attract some of the big time J-pop rockin’ JDM machines as the rival Super Lap Battle this year’s season opener saw plenty of records fall. Hit the jump to see more images as well as some of the record-breaking times.

If you’re a car or truck enthusiast, it’s only natural to have an occasional hankering for some military vehicles, and today’s Photo of the Day should fill that bill. The winning pic comes from English Russia, where for some reason (it’s often kind of difficult to tell what’s going on there, text-wise), they’re running a whole string of super-sexy tank and APC photos. Take a look!

$25K Carbon Fiber Office Chair. Okay, This Is Just Getting Silly…
By Jen Dunnaway

If your idea of automotive-themed furniture is that junkyard Astro Van backseat you use to pile crap on in the garage, Mansory’s line of office furniture is going to seem a little excessive. Hell, it’s probably going to seem a little excessive anyway, especially when you can think of entire cars you can buy for less than the cost of these knick-knacks. Aside from how dumb the whole carbon-fiber-everything fad is getting, the silliness of these chairs lies in their claim to be luxury-car-inspired–what, because of the similar color scheme and materials? Good thing for Mansory that there’s enough people in the world with more money than sense. Via BornRich.
