Crazy Flaming Carnage: 18-Wheeler T-Bones Dump Truck
By Brian Lohnes
BangShift.com
We’ll start with the punchline. According to the Associated Press, neither driver in this massive collision was hurt. We can’ t fathom how that is possible because the impact looks like someone detonating a nuclear device, but we’re glad that it’s true. This is explosion quality that is normally only seen in Jerry Bruckheimer movies. How the dump truck managed to amble across a highway and directly in front of an 18-wheeler gathering steam to merge onto said highway is beyond us, but it happened. Pay attention to the upper left corner of the camera shot. This kids, is impressive stuff…

I noticed a police car with its lights on in the opposing lane, and another dump truck actually stopped in the middle of the highway by the onramp. I’m guessing that the dump truck that got nailed by the semi was just trying to avoid the stalled dump truck in front of him, but at least there was at least one officer already there and probably other emergency vehicles already on their way. Imagine what was running through the heads of everyone else on the highway approaching that! It’s good to hear that everyone is ok, but like everyone else said, I don’t know how.

Yeah that was a huge fireball i’m guessing that the 18 wheeler smashed the gas tank that is slung under the body on the side of the frame cause the fireball was huge and it was gone quick so it had to be fuel but glad to hear they are ok looked like an action movie crash to me

well to answer how you don’t know how a dump truck could cut in front of an 18 wheeler so quick for a big truck is because a dump truck can maneuver better of course unless it’s heavily loaded, the speed it cut across it looks like it’s empty. plus it’s a newer truck, not an old 20 year old dump truck so it would be a little faster. and actually it kind of looks like a Sterling with the same cab of a big Sterling i used to drive which had a 24 foot flatbed on it and an Eaton Fuller 10 speed. which without the Moffitt forklift on the back that truck was pretty damn quick for a big 10 wheeler that’s the same height as an 18 wheeler. i know it had a Mercedes Benz Diesel but not sure of the model or anything. anyways if you’ve ever been behind an 18 wheeler on an on-ramp, they take time to get up to speed even with an unloaded trailer as that trailer was and i should know since i tried out trucking a little bit. that 18 wheeler was a big square nose Kenworth W900 or a square nose Peterbilt 379, looks more like the KW W900 though, which those are the trucks i like the most.

but good to know they’re both alright, how i don’t know from the impact and flame.
