Motorcycle Soccer? Yup, Motorcycle Soccer.

This looks like fun. It also looks like a great way to get your legs broken. But what’s life without a little—or a lot—of risk?

Luke just created this ’69 Dodge Charger ride page today. I’m generally not a huge fan of stuffed animals at car shows but thought this was pretty hilarious.

Group 2 Motorsports

We shot a bunch of video over at Group 2 Motorsports yesterday. I’m guessing half of Seattle’s Alfa population is parked at that shop. Thanks again to Joe and the rest of the crew, and you can expect to see more on Group 2 in this blog in the near future. Tons more pics after the jump, including a bunch of 2CVs (yes, the French theme continues…).
Hemmings Find of the Day – 1961 Pontiac
By Dan Strohl
Hemmings
Of the half-dozen or so drag cars recently uploaded to the Hemmings.com classifieds, all by the same seller in Minnesota, we dig this 1961 Pontiac the most. It may not have the best racing history of the bunch, may not be as valuable as the rest, but how can you go wrong with a draggin’ wagon? Plus, as longtime Hemmings Muscle Machines readers know, we’re big fans of the work that Scott Tiemann does with Pontiacs. From the seller’s description:
Historically Significant Vintage Super Stock car with great paperwork and history, Set and Held 5 National NHRA Records, Built 455 by Pontiac Guru Scott Tiemann, Magazine feature from 1969, Time Slips, Owner History, Street Legal, Show or Nostalgia Race ready.

USAC Sprint Car at Lake Perris
By Speedhunters
Car Culture At Large
Circle and dirt track racing is something that I had never experienced until the end of last year – when USAC had me come out to a Sprint Car race. The action is crazy: 800 horsepower, fire breathing, dirt ripping machines bombing around a dirt oval – that feels inadequate to contain such speed and power. The cars were three wheeling through the corners, pulling wheelies down the straights, and kicking up so much dirt that the walls had to be scraped clean between heats. Insane.

A European Wheelstander Eats Concrete
By Brian Lohnes
BangShift.com
We’re going to get Friday off to a smashing start, literally. One of our European forum members tipped us off to video clips of a wheel-stander, The Little Green Wagon, drilling the guardrail and rolling during a run at a strip across the pond. If there’s one thing that wheel-stander drivers and gymnasts have in common it is the need to stick their landings. This one, not so much.
We cannot tell if the wheels were turned when the truck touched down or if something went away in the front end due to the impact of coming back to Earth, but the results were super un-good for the driver. He climbs out of the truck eventually, which is good, but the ol’ Dodge is way wrecked.
This video is a good illustration of why many strips have abandoned the linked Jersey-barrier style walls. You can pretty clearly see here how they get compromised during a big impact.
Thanks to BangShift.com forum member Gerrit for the tip!

Special thanks to Ignite Racing Fuel, Verdier Racing, and Itzen Media for giving me the opportunity to get a camera inside of a Formula D Subaru Impreza WRX STi. While I was there, I also got interviews with the crew chief and driver Stephan Verdier. Read more about my scooby coverage at Tampa Sports Car Examiner.
