Free Drifting Ride By Dodge
Tampa Sports Car Examiner
All hail the mighty Dodge! Fans at Road Atlanta Formula D were given a ride of their life in a Challenger as it drifted around a small course piloted by Dodge’s professional test drivers. Full of corners, this course was actually quite fun and one of the main attractions at the event. Thanks to the Dodge booth guys for letting me climb up a ladder and risk life and limb for this shot, you dudes rock.

Dad Saves Infant Son In Nasty Wreck
By Jen Dunnaway

A father in Australia found himself in the path of an out-of-control vehicle with his baby son in his arms. The elderly driver reportedly had a heart attack at the wheel, and managed to send the father’s own parents and the baby’s empty stroller flying before plowing into a storefront. Dad just kept hanging onto the 4-month-old baby, and remained miraculously upright as he absorbed the impact of the crash and ended up pinned between the vehicle and a shattered store window. Miraculously, no one ended up with more than minor injuries. Watch the video below, and see a sensationalistic infotainment piece on the incident here.

Some maniac stuffed a Chevy small-block, along with a Ford front straight-axle and steering box, into an old Worthington tractor: goofy, ridiculous, awful, and awesome all at the same time. And as of right now, it’s sitting at 1000 bucks! Check out the auction on eBay.
1936 Cord 810 Westchester Rotting Outside Repair Shop in Roswell, Georgia

Not the sort of car you usually see left out in the elements. And apparently it’s been sitting outside the shop like this for years. Google street view captured another oddity on the premises–a red convertible that may have started out life as a ’57 Plymouth. Full story on the Cord at Junkyardlife.com and a pic of the weird red Plymouth after the jump! Via VWVortex
Update: my buddy Dan Strohl e-mailed me to let me know the red Plymouth is the evil Tornado.

It’s a Camaro. With a wing. So… these Transformers from outer space get mods, too? That’s just silly.
Are You Serious…?
By David Clarke

One thing I’ve seen time and time again in my 15 years going to regular car shows is that people have no concept of money or what things are worth, and the car corral at the recent Rhinebeck show was proof-positive of that once again. Like many years before it, the corral was filled with clone cars asking real car prices, Grandmas’ low miles daily drivers, and rotted-out hulks of metal that used to be cars. The latter category is what I would call highway robbery to anyone even thinking of making a purchase. How someone can slap a multi-thousand dollar price on something I can see through is beyond me. Take this 1970 Impala convertible–it’s a mess. The seller’s statement of “Doesn’t run, Needs work” is an understatement if I’ve ever heard one. With a broken right front spring and flat tire on the same wheel, almost worn-through paint, no actual metal left behind the rear wheel and a top that hasn’t come up since the Regan administration, it looks like a wounded junk yark dog. What may you ask is this car worth to someone like me? About 200 dollars as a parts car. What the seller wants is a far cry from that–follow the jump to see his well-placed ad.
