What Did You Do This Weekend?
By Jen Dunnaway
Editor
I had a very fulfilling weekend: swapped out a tie rod end on my diesel Escort, watched a little NASCAR on TV, made some burritos, and toured the all-new Griot’s Garage facility (more on that in a bit). I also went and checked out a junkyard I’d never been to before: Pull A Part in Tacoma. There was a ton of cars there, with a decent selection of older vehicles. The place was the usual seasonal rowboat-worthy lake, and it seemed a little pricier than some of the other U-Pulls I’ve visited in the area. But I found everything I was looking for there, and will be happy to give them some repeat business.
How about you? What did you do this weekend?

Team Camaro – Day Three, the Final Day!
RedMaro6
Today was one hell of a good final drive to the big state of Texas. After a fun night celebrating at the Cherokee Inn in Catoosa, Oklahoma, we all met in the parking lot again early in the morning for a quick prep-talk. The dedicated teams in the Ford Raptor, Subaru WRX, and new Camaro SS decided to depart a bit earlier, in hopes to follow their plan of driving the mother road and stopping at just about every Route 66 landmark. John and I took a few minutes to run to the local gas station, fuel up, pick up some breakfast snacks, and head back to the starting line.

I Bought It Like That
By Chris Trout

Every week, the local burger joint sponsors a gathering of automotive celebration they call a “classic car show.” I often venture out to check out the sites as heroes display their trophies, cast in steel, rubber and fiberglass. These cars are garage-built badges of honor, valor, mental acuity and unwavering determination. Their displayers, unsung heroes, rescue automotive relics from sun-scorched fields, decaying barns, and apathetic owners, and restore the rust-encapsulated, dry-rotted, mouse-infested hulks to their former glory. These glorious automotive icons glisten, displaying the craftsmanship of their original equipment manufacturer as well as their caretakers.

SX-Camino

This guy decided to chop his 240 SX into a handy ute. It’s clearly a work in progress, a little rough around the edges–but unlike a lot of the home-brew conversions I’ve seen lately, it doesn’t look to be the handiwork of a total meth addict. See more pics below the jump!

Corvettes of Auburn: My New Favorite Garage
Bick66
An unfortunate hit-&-run fender-bender a few days ago left me in search of a body shop that I could trust with my C6 Corvette. Like most automotive enthusiasts, I cringe at the mere thought of anyone else driving my cars, let alone some flunky at a corporate garage. I’d heard rumors of their excellent workmanship so I decided to check out Corvettes of Auburn about 20 miles south of Seattle. It didn’t take long for me to decide that this is the only shop where I feel completely comfortable leaving one of my most prized possessions. I was impressed with the knowledgeable crew, friendly service, and expansive facility that made up this incredible shop. Continue reading after the jump and check out more pictures including the damage to my car’s front right corner.

Felix took a beater S-10 and an Escalade front clip and built a very clean little Cadillac-nosed pickup out of the two. Take a look!
