There are a ton of really beautiful photos of Scott’s Corolla on his ride page, but this one rules because it shows that our gearhead brethren in New Zealand love taking pics of themselves getting jacked by the cops just as much as we do.

Rocky Auto RB25 Hakosuka
By Speedhunters
Car Culture At Large
I was like a kid in a candy store the other day at Rocky Auto. The selection of cars at the main shop is nothing short of mind-boggling, each one so different from the next yet so impossibly original. Watanabe-san always has so many ideas in his head for future projects, and I really can’t believe he manages to come up with such unique cars each time he puts his thinking hat on. Take this PGC10 2-door Skyline 2000-GT hard top for example.
It is one of many demonstration cars that are kept at the shop and used on a daily basis by the man himself. Like most of the cars that come out of Rocky Auto this Skyline has been given a new breath of life, with a series of modifications that transform it into a very modern feeling car. Power is courtesy of an RB25DE, which is smooth and powerful, allowing the classic Skyline to retain its original straight-six feel. Continue reading at Speedhunters

AMC Collection Must Be Sold Off By July 30th, Buy Now!
By Brian Lohnes
BangShift.com
If you happen to be itching for an AMC project vehicle or just want to own some Kenosha iron, get your bad self down to Fate, Texas, and try to scoop up one of the remaining pieces of the Ed Hooper collection. Ed liked to buy decent AMC examples when he could find them and bring them back to his place in Texas. It seems from there, nothing much happened with them.
What’s very interesting in the notes about Hooper’s buying habits is that he often bought stuff and let it sit at the seller’s home for months before taking it home to Texas. According to the website talking about the collection and the sale, Hooper may have bought, but not picked up, more than 100 cars, leaving them with the sellers. That’s speculation but amazing speculation indeed.
Since we already have our own forlorn AMC project at home, we’ll encourage others to pick up the phone, hit the road, or shoot an e-mail to find out what’s left for sale out of this pretty awesome collection of stuff.
We want a Rebel Machine!
Thanks to MSD’s Robert Martin for the tip on this crazy sale!

Retro Gold: 60′s Girl Band Invades Mustang Assembly Plant
By Jen Dunnaway

For their music video for “Nowhere to Run,” Martha and the Vandellas shimmy and lip-sync their way through an assembly line full of freshly-minted Mustangs while regular-Joe line workers try to concentrate on doing their jobs. It’s pretty rare to see oldie music videos that are actually awesome, and with the huge concentration of assembly plants in the Detroit area, you kind of have to wonder why every Motown band didn’t have an assembly-line music vid. Seems like the perfect no-brainer, like film-school students doing a zombie flick for their senior project. Via Hemmings.
Introduction to Ignition Timing

Cars today pretty much run themselves. Outfitted with an army of computers, they take any chance for bench top tuning out of your hands and make you rely on chip manufacturers or professionals with laptops. Either way, you can’t just pop the hood, make some tweaks and go racing. Well, I’m not here to talk about those cars. Quite a few of you on here still run a good old carburetor and distributor with infinite options for hands-on tuning. So today I’m going to teach you how to time your distributor-equipped engine using the most popular engine out there: a Chevy 350. Hit the jump for the complete tutorial.
Fugliest Concept Car In Recent Memory

What do you think–should BMW put this concept X9 into production? It kind of looks like what might result if you put a Dodge Stratus and an Ariel Atom in one of Brundlefly’s telepods. Hey, at least it’s different, and if nothing else it’d sure shake up BMW’s undifferentiated small/medium/large design strategy. See more views below the jump, via Jalopnik.

The Last Collectible ‘New Edge’ Pony: The Mach 1
powerTV Media
The year was 1969. Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper and Jack Nicholson starred in the biker classic, Easy Rider. More than 450,000 people converged on Bethel, New York for the Woodstock Music and Art Fair. But, there’s more. The Mustang Mach 1 takes to the streets to do battle with Camaros and Chargers — armed with the 428 Cobra Jet engine and a menacing, soon-to-be famous “shaker” hoodscoop.
The Mach 1 Sportsroof production model took on a definitive drag racing theme with its aggressive flat-black hood, integrated rear spoiler, front air dam, and racing hood tie-downs. The interior featured “comfort weave” bucket seats and a three-spoke “Rim Blow” steering wheel. Follow the jump to read more about this amazing machine.
