Kranze Has the Best VIP Demo Cars
By Ben Schaffer
The Real JDM
Wed’s Kranze sub-brand always seems to have the best demo cars to show off their rims. Although I’ve already talked earlier about their ridiculous widebody LS430 from a few years earlier, this more modern LS600h is worthy of a new mention. In 2010, this is perhaps a perfect example of how to build a VIP car. (Picture taken from Bulletproof’s trip to Tokyo during set-up day at Tokyo Auto Salon.)

Door Slammer Action from Hallsville Drag Strip in the 1970s
By Brian Lohnes
BangShift.com
This vintage drag racing video takes us to Texas in the 1970s. The race is being held at Hallsville Drag Strip, which is still under operation but now called Hallsville Dragway. As you’d expect, things are a little more modernized now than they were in the days when this video was taken.
There’s something beyond cool about a bare bones strip and Hallsville certainly qualified for that status in this era. Initially we thought it was an eighth mile track but research has shown that it was and is a quarter-mile affair.
This Weekend: NASCAR Turns Right
By Jen Dunnaway

Later today I’m headed to Infineon Raceway (formerly the fabled Sears Point Raceway) which has the distinction of being one of the few road-course tracks where NASCAR regularly runs. Though I’ve seen all kinds of race cars run at Road America, Road Atlanta, Carolina Motorsports Park and a handful of other twisty tracks, this is the first time I’m going in person to watch actual Sprint Cup stock cars pitch and yaw through the esses and wallow their way around jack-knife turns. And even though as a NASCAR fan I’ve always felt that turning right is overrated, I can’t help but be unbelievably stoked. This time around, I’ve got a photog pass and I’m going to see if I can’t get run over–stick with the blog this weekend for an inside perspective on all the places you’re not supposed to be at Infineon!

NASCAR coverage brought to you by Valvoline Engine Guarantee–the first and only motor oil in the industry that will guarantee your engine up to 300,000 miles. *Registration required, some limitations apply.
