Mystery Machine

By Jen Dunnaway

Editor

A good tribute car is all about nostalgia and putting smiles on faces, and it’s rare to come across one that’s both clean and creatively done. I thought I’d seen everything when we featured Brittney’s Turtle Van awhile back, but OldManSmithers’s Mystery Machine is similarly–and awesomely–faithful to the original on which it’s based. The companion “Scooby Snax” Neon he built to race at the local dirt track is a nice touch as well. Take a look!

Olds Delta 88

I’ve always loved the big-boat GM’s of the early 70′s, and Erik’s Delta 88 is one of the nicest examples I’ve seen. He kept it ultra-clean and stock-looking, with great attention to detail under the hood. Check out that gorgeous motor!

The Challengers Are Coming!

By Karan Singh

StreetFire.net

The British soccer team better watch out today because the good ol’ U. S. of A. is good at creating freedom and automobiles. Not sure how it directly relates to soccer but Dodge’s marketing team came up with this somewhat funny clip of our original Commander in Chief, George Washington chasing away the redcoats in a Challenger SRT8. Hopefully this video did the trick and spooked the British! Now seeing the Challengers on the field would definitely be something worth seeing! Challenger Soccer definitely sounds more appealing the Motorcycle Soccer.

Good Luck Team USA!

The series will consist of 15 one-hour episodes covering D1 events from both Japan and the US. What we’re most excited about is the addition of three American drivers to the series. Check your local listings and look for D1 drifting action on Speed TV channel in September. For more information go to d1gp.com

Hot Rod Power Tour 2010: Day Six, Birmingham AL

Things got interesting today. Unfortunately we lost our friends in the Superbee, but everyone else was game to meet up. So I found a real interesting place online called Aretha’s Frankenstein’s in Chattanooga. It was a GREAT decision.

640+ Horsepower E92 BMW M3

By Brooks Weisblat

DragTimes.com

This is probably the most powerful, quickest and fastest current generation BMW M3 around making close to 650HP and running 11.4 @ 131.6 MPH in the 1/4 mile. Drew added quite a a few extensive changes to make this M3 move so fast, including a Gintani Supercharger, meth injection, full exhaust along with other supporting performance modifications.

While the trap speeds and power output numbers are impressive, it looks like this M3 has some real issues getting off the line, even with drag radials it still only manages a 2.06 60′ time. Drew needs to get his M3′s DCT launch control working if he want’s to keep up with all of the modded Nissan GT-Rs and Porsche 997 PDKs running around that destroy just about anything off the line with ease.

Take a look at the full article with timeslip, dyno graph, pictures and video over at DragTimes.com
