Underpowered compared to what? the stuff out now? You have to compare it to what else came out that year. Also look at the time the C3s were out, started right at mid muscle car era but lasted until early 80s, so most of the C3 era was in a time of the OPEC Oil Embargo so it was hard to sell muscle. So manufacturers de-powered everything because why make high output HP muscle cars if they’re not going to sell?

Most of those cars got ragged out pretty quick any way and not too many people care. Everything broke, the seats wore smooth out, and the paint turned to chalk fast, I called this version the “lemmon vette”

I think I’m gonna cry… Thats my favorite body style of the modern vette’s. One of those with the powertrain of the new ZR-1 and that would be THE definition of bad ass.

Although I will say in the C4′s defense that the ZR-1 and Calloway Sledgehammer Corvette were the exceptions to what I feel was an otherwise underpowered generation.

Ok, so I understand that the C4 is like the Mustang II of Corvettes… It was the right car for the time, but hardly anyone wants one now. But, still… It’s a Vette, dude. How hard would it be to fix one up and even put modern Vette running gear in it? I bet if you did, alot of C6 owners would wet their pants!!
