2011 Mustang GT Automatic Runs 11′s On Street Tires
powerTV Media
The new 2011 Ford Mustang GT has been an absolute upper deck home run for the Ford Motor Company thus far, as blue oval fanatics and automotive enthusiasts alike clamor to get their hands on the venomous new pony car to find out for themselves just what the new drivetrain is capable of.
Since the release of the highly acclaimed 2011 GT this spring with its touted new 5.0L engine pumping out 412 horses, performance shops and owners have been raising the performance bar in short order as they continually push the limits of the five-oh. We’ve already seen headlines made with some astounding numbers by several different individuals with the car in many different forms. Bone stock, tuned, slick tires, radials, manual, automatic…you name it. Now, the guys at Evolution Performance have decided to work the stock rear tires for all they’re worth in an attempt to se just how fast this car really is virtually right off the dealer lot.
Evolution Performance, in Aston, PA, took their Grabber Blue, automatic-equipped GT on a series of laps down the quarter mile riding on the stock wheels and factory.
“We wanted to see what times could be achieved with D.O.T. Street Tires on Stock Wheels, which 80% of the people buying these cars will be using.,” said Fred Cook of Evolution Performance. “This car is geared more towards the Street/Strip group using 100% Street Components!”
Crazy 1958 Lister Corvette on the Road Course

First things first, Lister Corvettes are not really Corvettes at all. The name came from the late 1950′s when the Lister chassis started making their way to US shores from Europe and racers began bolting in hot small block engines from Chevy Corvettes. This in-car video shows a 1958 Lister Corvette that is packing a 600hp small block. It’s awesome and shows that driver Ed Dellis has some skills to keep it on the track!
Crank up the speakers and really pay attention from two minutes on when Dellis starts letting the car eat. It’s sideways more often than straight!

Just got sent this very cool image of a BNR32 spitting a nice juicy flame from Australian-based photographer Dave Reid. It was taken earlier in the year at a Mercury Motorsport Dyno Competition. The 500 HP tuned GT-R is daily driven by its owner. Very cool!

Taser Used At Scraping The Coast 2010
Tampa Sports Car Examiner
Don’t tase me bro! A third gen Camaro owner was cited for a burnout and pushed the officer just a little too far. Doing a burnout yet again after being pulled over according to the YouTube witness, this dude was straight up asking for trouble. He then ignores the officer, gets out of the car, and gets a fat fingered shocker right on the asphalt. Was the taser appropriate for this situation? Comment below and read more at Tampa Sports Car Examiner.

Cars + graffiti tends to make for a good photo, but you usually see it done with later model and tuner cars. Ras Daniel’s ’64 Falcon in banana yellow really stands out against the black-and-white artwork. See more on his incredible ride page!

One Mud Truck Flambe Coming Right Up
By Brian Lohnes
BangShift.com
With our East Coast offices in the beginning stages of a horrific heat wave, it was only natural that we’d seek out some good old fashioned fire action. We got our fix with this footage of an Isuzu truck bodied mud bogging machine that is running at full tilt and going nowhere in a deep pit of slop.
Something majorly bad happened and either the engine blew apart sending oil onto the headers or the transmission ‘sploded sending ATF onto the headers, but either way, things flare up quick for the driver of the truck. He appears to have been wearing an SFI approved t-shirt and jeans. Yeah, he’s lucky this wasn’t worse.
Jeff Zwart Pikes Peak In Ccar

After setting a new record with his qualifying run, Jeff Zwart won the Time Attack class with a time of 11:31.095 at the 2010 Pikes Peak International Hillclimb. Beating the previous record, set by Rhys Millen in 2009 in his Hyundai Genesis.
A Canon 5D Mark II was rigged over Jeff’s shoulder to capture the run. The recording length limit on the Canon DSLRs in video mode is 12 minutes. We joked that Jeff had to run under 12 minutes or else we wouldn’t be able to capture his entire run. I pushed record seconds before his start and Jeff had recording time to spare at the top with his 11 minute dash. Watch from the cockpit as his Porsche GT3 Cup screams up the hill.

Ford Snags Another First

Ford has been an industry pioneer in things like the assembly line and product placement in very early films–so it’s not surprising that they’re now on the cutting edge again. Ford has become the first manufacturer to sell their cars directly to customers via the internet. Can you imagine buying your next car online? One can definitely see the appeal, since so many people prefer to shop without the hassle of salespeople ‘tricking’ them into something they don’t actually want.
One of Britain’s largest dealer groups has made the bold step into cyberspace, offering customers the opportunity to buy their next Ford vehicle entirely online–read up on it here.
What do you think? Would you entertain the idea of purchasing your next vehicle online?
