Paint It Like You Stole It
By Jen Dunnaway

Back in 1990, Ethan’s Fiero was stolen. It was AWOL for two years, and when it resurfaced it was lime green. Looks like the car theif’s paintwork has held up amazingly well!

I like this shot of Kitty’s Eagle Talon lined up with a bunch of other track toys under the lights.

Summer Road Trip: It’s About Time!
Bick66
Now that summer is in full swing, many of us are hitting the road to enjoy the fantastic array of open highways that North America has to offer. One of the most amazing stretches of road in the world is the system of highways that wind and twist their way along the West Coast of Washington, Oregon and California. Jen and I are packing up the Corvette and leaving tonight for 10 days of Pacific Coast cruising, junkyard tourism, and SoCal beach bumming. How about you? Any road trip plans still ahead at this point in the summer?

The Granny Goose II Modified Production 1969 Camaro
By Brian Lohnes
BangShift.com
We’re lucky enough to spend lots of time at cool events either shooting video or photos of neat cars. During the 2009 Holley NHRA National Hot Rod Reunion, we saw a D/Modified Production 1969 Camaro called the Granny Goose II and immediately fell in love. Unfortunately for us, we were so busy we were not able to hunt down the car owners for information on this awesome machine. We didn’t make the same mistake in 2010.
Modified Production was an NHRA class that appeared in 1964 and was killed off in 1981. Along the way, racers used multitudes of combinations in several different classes. While the A and B/MP cars got lots of recognition because of their ability to throw big numbers up on the score boards, it is cars like the Granny Goose II which ran in the lower classes that people remember so fondly. Why? You listen to the 331ci small block spin to about ten grand on the starting line and tell us.
This particular car was restored to the condition you see it in now just after the turn of the millenium. It was destined to live it’s life as a show car until it was seen by current owner James Payne in 2005. He managed to buy the car and despite please from the former owner to leave it as a show car, Payne did the right thing and prepped it for the track. We’re very glad that he did because it would be wrong to have this awesome piece of history used only for power parking at car shows. Continue reading at BangShift.com

The Cars That’ve Left Me Stranded
HotRodHoney
Most everyone has been there: you’re on your way somewhere, and suddenly, out of the blue, your car breaks down and there you are sitting at the side of the road. This was especially exciting before the invention and common use of cell phones. It was then time to walk until you found a payphone (yeah, remember those?). Looking back at my own automotive history, I realize there are a lot of cars that have left me in the lurch. Follow the jump to see the highlights of my breakdown record, and to share your own.
Bentley With Patina on Hemmings
By Jen Dunnaway

Hey, now anyone can own a Bentley. As long as you’re not squeamish about a bit of paint peel and a few species of molds and lichens. I’d like to see what Blake and his crew at NorthWest Auto Salon could do with that finish, though I’d also be tempted to leave it ratty. It’s a relic, after all! $6950 on Hemmings Classifieds.
Brenda Priddy Spotted by Hyundai
Atomicalex
Brenda Priddy, the ranking goddess of automotive spy photography, has some pretty intense love/hate relationships with research and development engineers around the world thanks to her ability to snap their handiwork before it’s ready for prime time. She’s been sneaking around the desert for the last few weeks, chasing summer and hot weather testing teams. I think the Hyundai peeps like her. The question here is who spotted who first?
Thanks to Brenda for lending us the photo!
