By Michael Berenis

Tampa Sports Car Examiner

Kids aren’t sniffing Sharpie markers anymore, they’re using them to create artwork down the sides of their vehicles. Sharpie artist “Pinstripe Chris” knows how to make the Fiero stand out. Read more about the Sharpie art trend at Tampa Sports Car Examiner.

The Sheikh’s Black Spider

By Karan Singh

StreetFire.net

What’s a guy to do with a garage with over 200 cars? Why not build this ridiculous transforming Nissan Patrol? We can’t figure out a credible explanation for the design, other than to possibly assist in climbing sand dunes. But whatever the case, this Nissan, dubbed the “Black Spider,” is pure insanity. Where does a guy even buy white-wall off-road tires anyway?

The Other Pebble Beach Concours

By Jen Dunnaway

Editor

The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance is a fantastic annual celebration of everything hoity-toity within the automotive world. But what of the forgotten, the ugly, and the orphaned? Now in its second year, the Concours d’Lemons ensures them a place, too. And I’m sure I don’t need to tell you which Concours I’m most excited about. Held just up the road from the hallowed Pebble Beach site in Monterey, d’Lemons takes place on Sunday and will include a colorful heap of beaters and automotive oddities. Clunkbucket‘s Mike Bumbeck is going, and we’re hoping to snag some photos from him net week. Take a look at a few of his pics from last year’s show here!

Zetec Fiesta

By Speedhunters

Car Culture At Large

One of the cars that caught my attention at the Ford Fair last weekend was this 80′s Fiesta. I’m pretty certain it’s the MKII variant as the MKI had round lights. The Fiesta has long been associated as a reliable town car and with the exception of the XR, ST and RST variants has lived a relatively sedate life. The decision to turn this simple city car into a caged, stripped and powerful track car was pure wisdom.

It’s not the first and it won’t be the last Fiesta in this style but it’s definitely one of the finest examples I’ve laid eyes on. Powered by a DOHC Zetec engine, although I’m not sure what capacity, it certainly has the power to propel this featherweight car to some quick laptimes. See more of this hot UK hatch at Speedhunters.

‘Ring Rental Caterham

By Katherine Helmetag

Atomicalex

I arrived home from work the other day to find this next to my house. It’s one of the many cars that you can rent specifically for use on the Nordschleife. That’s important, because car rental firms keep their eyes on the webcam at the entrance to the course, looking for their cars and denying insurance claims to all who crack them up on the fabled course. Private owners can find themselves in the same sticky spot as in the US – no coverage if there is any evidence of timing. Unfortunately, this track-prepped rental was in the possession of a lucky neighbor, not me! More pics and strange German road sign after the jump!
