By Fireball Tim

This, from Paris Motor Show. An electric supercar from Jaguar that provides a glimpse into its slick future.

With Jetstream Silver paint, the C-X75 has four electric motors with 145kW (580kW total) of power each with a combined total of 1,600Nm of torque. MASSIVE! These motors allow for a 330km/h top speed, four-wheel-drive and electric-only driving for 110 kilometers. There are also 70kW turbines which recharge the engine allowing for a range of 900 kilometers!

Performance figures see a 0-100km/h time of 3.4 seconds and a 0-16km/h time of 5.5 seconds. It also has a lightweight aluminum chassis for agility and extra performance.

All-Electric Eclipse on eBay

By Jen Dunnaway

Editor

I always love a good homebrew electric car. This Eclipse claims to get only 15-40 miles on a charge (depending on how you drive), but that’d be enough to get me to work and back. Almost. Actually, not really. Check out the auction, and thanks to Idefix for the tip!

Journey Home From Detroit: Rain and More Rain

By Stephanie Porteus

HotRodHoney

Our journey home across the Midwest following the Woodward Dream Cruise seemed to be exactly the opposite of the rest of our trip. The gloomy weather made the general mood bleak as the old Buick charged through the rain. The vacation had gone so fast perhaps we were a little bit bummed, or perhaps it was the idea of heading back to reality. Continue reading…

LS2 Powered Perfection

By Speedhunters

Car Culture At Large

What do you get when you work for 10 months, 5-8 hours a night beside your normal day job? If you had spent that time working on your car it could have looked like this Nissan 240SX. For 10 months straight Tyson Schmidt and his dad Dale have been working and perfecting this car.

The base car is a 240SX from 1992, but not much is left of that car. It all started with the front end conversion that has been fully tubbed. In the process it also gained the Instant Gentleman frontbumper. The frontbumper matches perfectly to the DMax widebody. Continue reading at Speedhunters

Peugeot 106 Jumps Jaguar

By Michael Berenis

Tampa Sports Car Examiner

Jumping the Peugeot 106 over a Jaguar is not hard, but the landing definitely is! Miscalculations during the ramp construction led to a bad trajectory for the nose heavy Peugeot 106. As a result of these variables, we have a byproduct of chaos. Read more about the jump at Tampa Sports Car Examiner.

New Edelbrock Classic IAS Shocks for My Mopar!

By Rob Einaudi

Editor-in-Chief

I’ve had the same old Monroes on my Mopar since I got it eight years ago. But for years I’ve heard nothing but good things about the Edelbrock Classic IAS shocks–Mr. Angry swears by them on his rides–and I’ve been wanting to try them out. I especially like the looks of the gray Classic shock but the red Performer version is cool, too. Anyway, there’s lots more I have to do to my suspension–ditch the stupid helper springs and get new leaf spring, beefier torsion-bars, etc. But I figured shocks were a good place to start, and the Quaker State video series we’ve been running gave me the perfect excuse! Bolt on was super simple and the ride improvement was huge! Thanks to Rick at Group 2 Motorsports for the demo! A bunch of pics plus the video of the install after the jump!

384 Hours of LeMons, Here We Come!

By Katherine Helmetag

Scirocket II did not have the best outing in the April LeMons race at GingerMan, racking up more penalties than were technically permissable. Somehow, we managed to get back on track and finish the race. In anticipation of what might happen in the two upcoming midwest races in October, Chief Perp Jay Lamm picked ten teams to document their experiences in the back-to-back 384 Hour challenge with a super-cool LeMons FlipCam. We made the cut, presumably in the “least promising” category: it seems these guys might have had some bad experiences with VWs in general! We’re taking this mission to heart – I’ll be linking over the vids as the LeMons crew get them posted!
