Rice or Nice? Custom 1975 Corvette

By Michael Berenis

Tampa Sports Car Examiner

This Corvette walks the line between unique and odd. The most noticeable features of this car are the static light conversion to the front end, and the red hot flames against the bright yellow paint job. But maybe that’s a face that only a mother could love. What do you think, is this rice or nice? Read more at Tampa Sports Car Examiner.

I really don’t like flames on a car, I just don’t understand why people do it

I saw a ‘Vette of similar vintage over the weekend that had had a widebody conversion done, complete with an extra pair of taillights. It crossed an intersection while I was stopped at a light. Didn’t have time to get the camera up and on before it passed, though.

Really like the level of custom work put into this Vette. The paint, the interior, kinda disappointed that he used cheap looking ebay sideview mirrors. But I do like the idea in the front end although wouldn’t do it myself, but I do like it. It’s very aggressive.

Overall I really respect the look of this car and the hard ass work put into it. I’m sure it wins a lot of shows, HELL, I’d vote for it. Would LOVE to see the engine too.

Really badass ride. Love it.

The nose is a little aggressive. But you do have to appreciate the amount of work put into it. And everybody likes different things, sometimes there just way… different.

The front totally ruined it. That guy screwed it up too. He talks like he’s in a low-budget porno. “Oh yeah. O yeah. That’s sweet. Aww look at it. OOoOoohhhh.”

I definitely like it. The flames carry through the whole car, and while a bit much the design was well executed. The nose is very unique, although I have mixed feelings about the pop ups being removed. I would have tried perhaps a sleepy eye mod or something to keep pop ups in the design.

I’m not a fan of yellow, but rarely a yellow car looks good enough for me to like. The yellow on this car is nice but it just doesn’t make the cut. I would have opted for flames on black, probably.

Nonetheless the quality and passion that went into this is impressive.

i kinda like it. it reminds me of that 80′s flick “Corvette Summer” get rid of the yellow and the flames , paint it candy apple red with gold metalics in the clear coat with gold pinstrips and it would look good

I’m not a fan of yellow unless it’s canary yellow on a hot rod or other classics but the Vette isn’t to bad, just needs to get rid of the front nose and the flames. That’s old school flames and jsut doesn’t look good on a Vette, if you’re going to do flames on a Vette then at least do the realistic flames or nice big ghost flames. The steering wheel can go to, rest of teh interior didn’t look to bad at least from what I saw. But no this isn’t rice because it doesn’t have a 3 foot tall Boeing 747 wing on the back and an over the top body kit all around.
