Just Another Wacky Day At Autosport Seattle
By Jen Dunnaway

I always try to remember to bring my camera when I stop by my favorite neighborhood machine shop, because there’s generally something random going on there. Yesterday a mounted policeman stopped by to tell John about his MG and the wiring problems he’s having with his ’55 T-bird. Meanwhile, his horse was totally checking out the Austin-Healy.

They say you’re never supposed to shoot into the sun, but somehow this RX2 in Modified Mag came out perfect. Via Speedhunters.

I’ve seen a lot of Porsche video reviews before, but this is by far the funniest. Here’s what I want to know, what exactly is that accent?

AMG E-Cell in Paris
Atomicalex
Wandering around Paris behind the Eiffel Tower, I came across the AMG crew shooting some promotional video for the AMG E-Cell, a full-electric based on the Mercedes-Benz SLS that may or may not actually go to production in 2013. The crew was not forthcoming with any information about the actual drivetrain in this car (as in, is it the real drivetrain, or a golf cart motor?), but didn’t mind my camera one bit. I love the wheels – odd as I’m generally not a fan of flat faces. These are just perfect, though! A bunch of pics after the jump!
Fireball Spots a Road Weapon

So Kathie and I headed up the coast for a drive. Take the pooches to the beach… illegally, I might add. We parked next to what seemed to be a rather low-key SS. As I walked past it, thoughts of “customs” ran through my mind.
The owner’s name was Victor. From LA. He and his buddies headed up the coast in this beast, stopping at the shoreline to chill. Now, on first pass, they looked rather intimidating. Tossing rocks, standing next to their charcoal black bruiser. But, the moment I asked Victor what he had under the hood, a sense of pride came over him. He flipped the hood to reveal a hand built 450 horse Road Weapon.

What “Practical” Exotic Would You Seriously Consider?
By Jen Dunnaway
Editor
Is there such thing as a “practical” exotic that you could run as a driver, or at the very least do something with besides polishing it with a microfiber and driving 20 miles a year to snooty concours shows? For me, practical exotics are the only ones I’m even remotely tempted by–I mean, if it’s so expensive and temperamental that you can’t even drive it to work, what’s the point? I’ve been totally hankering for a Pantera–I’ve always loved the incongruous combo of a thoroughbred-looking Italian car with this burly American-muscle burble coming out of it. The run-of-the-mill Ford 351 is a snap to find parts for, the rear engine compartment offers scads of room for wrenching, and the entire setup seems unfussy and accessible. Yes, I’m sure there are some hassles associated with owning a Pantera, but what do you expect? As exotics go, it seems infinitely doable. My runners-up for practical exotics would be a DeLorean (if that counts as any kind of exotic, it’s got low maintenance costs and great aftermarket infrastructure) or a Ferrari 308 (you can find them in the $20′s, and John from Autosport daily-drives his in the summer and does his oil changes on his lunch break: total rockstar). What am I missing? What attainable exotic have you had an eye on?
