Mitsubishi Evo Pulls GMC Sierra From Ditch

By Michael Berenis

Tampa Sports Car Examiner

Who needs a tow truck when you’ve got an all-wheel drive import laying around? Thanks to the Tow Mater Evo (notice the color), this 7,000 pound GMC Sierra was set free from the clutches of an evil, two foot deep ditch.  This isn’t the first JDM to pull a truck, don’t forget about the  Subaru pulling a stuck semi out of the snow.  Read more at Tampa Sports Car Examiner.

7,000 < 70,000 = Subaru for the win. Sorry, I can’t help myself.

Corvette Nomad Kit Car

By Jen Dunnaway

What’s with the irrepressible impulse to dream up wagon versions of the Corvette? There’ve been concept Corvette wagons as long as there’ve been Corvettes, and while most of them end up being hideous franken-wagons, this longroof C1 looks like it was truly meant to be. That’s because it’s modeled upon the original Motorama Corvette Nomad that Chevy showed off at Detroit in 1954. This updated version, by Superior 54, has a custom Art Morrison frame and C5 Corvette suspension front and rear. But I read through the ad twice and couldn’t find any mention of an engine. Come on, at $195K for the turn-key version, they better at least be throwing in an LS1. Via duPont Registry.

Some serious machines in this one. Set in WW2, Captain America should be an interesting war/action epic. These shots feature the stunt doubles preparing for a scene. Follow the jump for a few more.

Electric Geo Metro, Powered By Black & Decker

There’s all kinds of nutty little Gyro Gearloose guys building homemade EV’s in their garages. This guy’s spoof on that format is pretty hilarious. I’d love to see his commute…

The Team Edlinger E30

By Speedhunters

Car Culture At Large

Last week, Jeroen, gave us a quick spotlight into the Team Edlinger E30. It’s hard to tell from the photos alone that the car is more than just a race car but more of a drooling, snarling, fire breathing beast. So, to follow up with that spotlight, here’s a video of the car hauling all sorts of behind while on its 2nd race. Turn up those speakers because this car sings!

Any race car that sparks like this E30 is a winner in my book.

Aggressive Aero Design Looks Like This in 2010

By Ben Schaffer

The Real JDM

This is what the Veilside Supra combat style kits of the mid 1990s have grown up to become. Although my style preference has turned somewhat away from ultra aggressive aero design in recent years I still really enjoy looking at this car. Ab Flug’s Vanguard Z34 370Z manages to somehow reconcile the difference between between hardcore racer and mature design. Most importantly however from my point of view: the design is unique and represents yet another original Japanese vehicle design.

Cute Product Alert: Form-A-Funnel

By Jen Dunnaway

For some of us, that gratifying splash of dirty oil you get when you break the filter loose is the highlight of every oil change. But folks who are precious about their undercar finishes die a little inside each time they unthread the filter and hot filth runs all over their billet suspension components and powdercoated underthings. For them, New Pig (the spill containment people) have come up with this trick moldable funnel to divert draining oil away from any tight spot down a no-mess chute right into the drain pan. It’s kind of a solution to a problem I didn’t know I had, but hey, I bet there’s some people out there who have been dying for someone to produce this. Get one here, via Hemmings.
