Tastefully Underglowed Grand Am
By Jen Dunnaway

Ever since I put my foot in my mouth the other week by suggesting that no one’s doing neon anymore, I’ve been noticing lots of tasty underglow on CarDomain. Check out Sean’s nicely-appointed Grand Am. In addition to the nice combination of the popsicle red with the silver, I’m definitely digging the wheels. Check out the ride page!

Ultra-Clean M3 on Craigslist

Good old CL is known for it beaters and fantastic low-buck finds, but since it’s become the classifieds-of-choice for enthusiasts, we’ve been seeing some pretty nice stuff turn up there as well. Check out this gorgeous built M3 for $32K OBO. I don’t follow Euros all that much, but it seems to me that a car like this would normally fetch a much higher price. Are these cars really that far in the toilet right now? Thanks to missourifornian for the tip!

I think it’s a very poetic shot, especially for a die-cast. From DMC’s Facebook page, where there appears to be a discussion in progress about whether any of the three actual gold-plated DeLoreans in existence came with the brown interior.

Is Ford Doing Everything Right?
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
With the new Focus and Explorer almost here I’d like to pose this question: is Ford doing everything right? Cause right now it seems that they don’t have any holes in their lineup. And while they aren’t gonna beat GM or Nissan to market, their electric strategy seems pretty solid. Lately, when non-car enthusiast friends and family members ask me what new family sedan to buy, I don’t say Camry or Accord, I say Fusion. Also, I’m not a truck guy at all but I still want a Raptor. Oh yeah, Ford also has Vaughn Gittin Jr. drifting their Mustang and that Ken Block guy storming around in a Fiesta. I’m still a Mopar guy and don’t consider myself a Ford fanboy–in fact it’s kind of my job to be critical of big auto companies–but right now I’m coming up with nothing bad to say about Ford. What do you guys think?
Oh, and here’s J Mays answering questions from the Ford Facebook page at the Paris Auto Show. Mustang fans, pay attention:
The Power of Good Design
By Ben Schaffer
The Real JDM
One topic I often talk about is good design. When it comes to cars, design is everything for me. Whether it be functional design of performance parts to visual design of body panels to material selection and subtle design of tiny details…design is so incredibly important.
I wanted to take an example today to illustrate the importance and value of design. TommyKaira is in the midst of a brand renaissance and are attacking quite a number of ambitious projects simultaneously. From their Prius to their GT-R, TommyKaira has been cranking out some incredible parts in the past year.
Enter the TommyKaira BM9 Legacy Complete Car. Aside from the first question – why even modify this car? The next logical question would be – How can they transform a car that most people would say is highly unattractive into a car that we could be excited to be seen in. And yet they prove my point and succeed against all odds… behold the power of good design:
