Carlisle All GM Nationals Live!

As a baby coming home from the hospital, my Mom held me in her arms, and my Dad was behind the wheel of a '74 Camaro. My first car was a 1984 Pontiac Grand Prix—which was more than enough power for an idiot kid—and when I found out that there were Jaguar XJ6 350 conversions, I knew I had to have one. I mean, that motor has more than fifty years of research and development on it, that's why there are more old hot rods running on Chevy power than anything else. Ever see an old Ford running on Chevy power? Of course you have. Ever seen the reverse? I didn't think so. So, yeah, I've got mad love for General Motors products, and I really enjoyed this show. As the 25 year mark gets closer, the mid '80s IROCs are starting to look more and more attractive, and it was great to see them out at the show. Enjoy the photos!

I would check out that show for models I haven't seen in a long time.
The 84 gran prix was nice. the opened front grilled design led to alot of miles. On a basic 3 speed short geared (oem non-ss type) I drove an original "LE" (limited edition meant something then) to 220+k miles never touched. it was a 305 and a dog, but the t-tops, floor shifter full guages, bright whitish velour interior contrasted black, the faded black to silver oem paint made it all special as I smoked a quart or two of oil every 150 miles. I have yet to find one on cardomain. The most contrasted oem paint car I have ever owned driven and never seen before, or much of since. also the wheels were oem fine finned alloy 14 inch- never saw them again. My locale is terrible like that.
