Viva Las Vegas: Up In Your Grille!

By Jen Dunnaway

Editor

The owner cut pieces of square tube-steel on an angle to make a toothy rictus for his GMC pickup. The result is something you sure wouldn't want jumping out at you from a dark alley at night. Don't get too close, you might lose an arm!

This truck looks great! This is definitely one of my favorite custom grilles I've ever seen.

I love traditional hot rods (I prefer that term to "rat rods"), and its good to see that they have a large fan base. However, if I ever buy one, it would be a long term project; I would buy a car, make it drivable, and gradually add mods to it while driving it. Eventually, I would end up with a finished car, with nice paint, etc. Isn't that how it was in the old days? People wanted to "finish" their rides , but they could only afford to do so much at a time. And of course, they kept driving and enjoying their rides through the whole thing.

Gotta be a pain in the butt though... pickin' bits of small cars and pedestrians out of its teeth every now and then...

I keep passing by this pic in the blog. This thing's enough to make the Maximum Overdrive rig run away with its tail between its legs...

figuratively.

I bet kids run screaming from it.

I love this idea. However I am not a fan of the whole rat rod thing. I would get the teeth chromed, the body straightened and painted a nice shiny black.
