Hemi Titan???

By Rob Einaudi

Editor-in-Chief

In April, Chrysler and Nissan announced that the next version of the Nissan Titan pickup will be based on the Ram 1500 and built in Chrysler's plant in Saltillo, Mexico. Since then, more details have emerged, including the fact that this new Chrysler-built Titan will most likely be available with Hemi power. That's right, a Mexican-built Hemi-powered Japanese full-sized pickup. More at pickuptrucks.com.

All of the Dodges that I know of are actually used like trucks, the Fords and Chevys are clean and don't see a day off pavement or in front of a trailer. One of my uncles was a die-hard ford guy, until he used his brother's Ram to tow a trailer his f-250 couldn't. He then proceded to buy a Ram 3500, a little overkill for his needs because he babies his trucks (which were Fords). One of my uncle's buddies, a chevy guy, bought a new Silverado diesel and wouldn't hook bumpers with my uncles Ram 2500 because he new he would have gotten pulled around. He said he wouldn't hook bumpers until he did stuff to it because he didn't stand a chance, and the Ram is stock. The biggest complaint I hear about why someone bought a Ford or Chevy was because the ride was softer than in the Dodge, due to softer suspension which didn't help with hauling stuff, and they didn't need the power the Dodges had. I have yet to meet someone who actually uses their newer Ford or Chevy as a truck.

The Titan is a fine truck. Pulls the boat and car hauler well. I would liken my previous Dodge truck to a momma's boy dressed for the prom by it's mommy. The handling and towing characteristics between the two are like mud and cement. The Dodge wallered like a pig. I really hate to see Nissan let Chrysler bork-up a really nice truck!

No its not a smart IDEA! Also If you go look your facts up you'll see that the new f-450 can tow a full size backhoe (WTF), you wont live to se the day a one ton DODGE can tow a full size backhoe! I work at an equipment dealership and guys all day long cant stand thier dodge's, and were talking construction guy's that actually use thier trucks, not pretty them up! I know all you are RAM partial for some reason, but honestly DODGE does not compete good enough in the truck market, thats why my DODGE dealer, and im sure yours too has to give these trucks away! even with the economy in bad shape FORD AND CHEVY dont need to offer lifetime warranties and 0% financing to move vehicles! BTW Talk to some construction guys Im sure they will let you know who rocks the tougher trucks, Go pull a backhoe with your DODGE!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!
don't do it chrysler, don't give the japs the technology

oh, and Dodge does make the best trucks, that's why they're so many of them. Eric, you take your Ford and go hook bumpers with a Dodge, it'll pull you around.

No DODGE has never designed the best trucks LOL, thats crazy talk! Titans are nice but if Chrysler touches them then there goes any value they had. Besides rams are already overpopulated like ANTS, I see so many of them that theres no point in owning one Ill just borrow one from a bum cause he has three! But screw it FORD will smash your trucks anyways!!!!!

Nissan WASN'T a contender to the Big 3 trucks. That's why they're doing this.
.
And unknown2u, Dodge has made some of the best trucks ever designed. Even Consumer Reports says so, and they hate Chrysler.

I wonder how long before the goofy looking Hemi Nissans start popping up. Too bad, I wanted Nissan to be a big contender against the big three trucks.!
