Nick Hogan Gets 8 Months in Jail
By John Coyle
Editor
After months of denying any wrongdoing in the August 26th accident that left his friend a vegetable, Nick Hogan appeared in court today and plead guilty to felony reckless driving involving serious bodily injury. It's not terribly surprising that he chose to cop. The photos of his smashed Supra make it pretty clear he wasn't doing anywhere near the posted 35MPH, and the fact that he had alcohol in his bloodstream isn't really a mitigating factor. The judge had wide latitude in the case, and sentenced Hogan to 8 Months in jail. Not too bad considering he could have gotten five years. Thanks for the tip Paul!

He is just a kid. What kid doesn't make mistakes. I feel alot of jealousy on this blog because he is a "rich" kid. One thing I can guarantee you is that his real punishment is for the rest of his life dealing with his friend's situation.

Nick Hogan is a tool. He's just another lame ass rich kid with no descipline and nothing to show for himself other than his parents.
Im very happy to get him off the streets and into jail its just a shame it wasnt a life sentence.

I have been to the Hogan's house many times and seen his car in person before it was wrecked. Plain and simple, Nick is a complete retard. He's constantly driving like an idiot. He deserves a lot of a longer sentence. The kid is a total prick.

Street racing is not safe. Racing on a track is not safe. Any racer knows these two things and accepts the risk in pursuit of the sport! If you are going to race on the street where you can hurt or kill people then be prepared to face the music! If you are going to get into a car with a racer, drunk, idiot of any kind, remember that's your choice. People always bitch about the concequences of a situation, why not remind them they had a choice to begin with...
I love cars, own several including dedicated race cars. I've pulled live and dead people out of other cars both on the track and on the street. Every single one of them didn't HAVE to be there. I don't feel sorry for any one of them, just their victims.

Of course he didnt get alot of time. his status def had to do with it. Money talks and bullshit walks. He def has the money for a good defense attorney. I thought it was funny that it was his dads car that he was in. Super Street featured both of there cars a few months before the crash. His dad's Supra had about 500HP with really not too much safety equipment, Nick's Supra on the other hand had around 900HP but had a roll cage and racing seats with harness. I wouldnt be suprised if his friend was in better shape had they been in that car. But who knows. Sad either way. His friend stays a veg. forever and he gets 8 months in a super low security prison.

Thats how it works. The state says "Plead guilty and do 8 months",or not gulity and do up to 5 years. His status had little to do with their offer. BTW most street racing is done LATE on backroads where there are no other roads or children with balls playing in the street. Not saying it is safe by any means. Just dont say it puts everyone in danger, because some dumbass kids do it in town.

to Paolino:
i take it you have never tried street racing......and yes you are stereotyping it. its not like they do it in the movies and chances are you have no clue what its even like. our crew is actually as safe or safer than racing at a track.....its not just stoplight to stoplight like most retards do.....its organized in a very positive waym so before you bitch and whine at street racer know what the hell your talking about

To David Delgado
You are part of the problem. Street racing racing is NOT safe and it never will be. When is comes to street racing, its all an illusion. If the fee to autox, time attack, or just go to the drag strip is too expensive, then you do not need to be racing in the first place. Its only a matter of tiem before you get into an accident that you or the person you race will cause, and someone will be hurt or dead. Street racing is illegal for a good reason. You put others' lives at risk and they do not even get a say as you blow by them, breaking the speed limit all the way.
It is not a stereotype to say Street racing is selfish. The people who advocate it are a)Only thinking of themselves and b)In defiance of laws to keep the public safe. Hopefully when you're older and with a little luck, wiser, you will understand and lay down your 'fast and furious' license.
Ever stop to think shy you do it anyway? its not for the love of speed; that is a cop out. Something in your subconcious NEEDS to be better than someone, you NEED to beat someone or feel on top for some reason. Find out what that is and resolve it, and you will become part of the solution.
Good luck to you.

Hey spell check, maybe they meant his ass was going to be looser by the time he got out of jail.

For all the highschool dropouts replying to this thread, the word is spelled "loser" NOT "looser". "Looser" means: More "not tight" than something else. Man, the Fast & the Delirious generation sure is stupid. No wonder they think Civics are racecars.

thats good, 8 months isnt that bad. Hopefully he has learned his lesson, unfortunately at the cost of his friend becoming a vegetable. He should come out of jail and go to so school or something so that he can get an education and not be as stupid and dumb as it appears he is.

Everyone needs to take a step back and review the facts.
1) The state and the kids parents (important to note) requested one year in jail. If you have the idea that well the parents and the state were bought and that is why they requested only a year wrong. They are sueing the hogan family in civil court. Nick Hogan got 8 out of the 12 months requested in jail. I think that is pretty close to what everyone asked for. I dont think nick hogan status had much to do with the time sentenced. Most people do not get the full amount requested by the state and that is why the state requests what it does. Anyways, yes he could have gotten up to five but the state or more importantly the family of the kid didnt feel like that was a worthy punishment.
2) While Nick was going over the speed limit which there is no denying. His friend wasn't wearing a seat belt which is the direct cause of him being the state he was in now. Furthermore, his friend who's name eludes me at this moment was a fellow racer. Also, help build that car for Nick. Again I am not saying that Nick wasn't at fault that is apparent with the court ruiling/sentencing. However, I think it is important that I don't feel like nick got off because he was rich. Also, the co-pilot made some mistakes as well in addition to knowing what type of driver nick was being a fellow racer. Some responsibility needs to be put on him as well.
I am not a Nick Hogan lover. In fact, I really didnt like his additude of what I have seen. However, I feel like it is important to paint a more accurate picture of the situation.

I am car/race/drift enthusiast, and I know a little about the law. It looks like Nick Hogan took a plea and got 8 months in jail. That is what anyone would have recieved instead of drawing the court out in a long expensive session that would have cost the county that the case was residing in thousands of dollars. Nick did the right thing by admitting guilt. I hope he does not appeal either. He will have the live with the fact that he screwed up a friend's life until the day he dies. Also, look at from this view point: what company is going to want to represent him for anything in the auto industry after all the shit he caused?

David Delgado you are a fucking moron. You can keep street racing safe? yeah, totally buddy, being a good driver can stop a child from running into the street chasing a ball or someone not looking and making a turn. Street Racing isn't safe, it never will be. Racing at the track is racing, racing on the streets is wreckless and puts EVERYONES lives in danger. grow up.

What does it matter that he has so much money. He didn't hire a attorney, or anything. He put himself under the judge's mercy. How is that not showing some kind of maturity? Yeah he denied the fact that he was at fault for it, but hell he's a freakin' kid, and was told to say that buy the families attorney? It's not to hard to believe. Also on top of the 8 months in jail, he is doing 500hr of community service! The guy is going to pay for what he did, and he knows it. Why not cut him a little slack, hell i bet almost all of us on here have drank and then drove somewhere, and i bet most have even raced. I think he got an adequate punishment for what happened, now it's time to move on.

It is jail, not prison...a mistake that many of you don't understand is that there is a difference! Paris Hilton did not go to Prison...she had jail time...

I agree he should have gotten at least 3 years for this BS if it was me They would have given 5 and thrown away the key......bastards!!. But I have to disagree racing should not be only kept on the track its too expensive. Just because he wrecked he's an idiot don't talk down about street racing, some of us are very good at it and keep it safe.

He should have been treated like anybody else that did this stupid shit!! It just goes to show that having money pays. I think what really sucks is that he nor his family show no remorse for what happened. I guess being the son a super star doesnt make you cool does it!?
