One Lap of America: Tire Rack World Headquarters!

I know a lot of you have probably ordered wheels and tires from The Tire Rack—but ever wonder where the goods come from? Tire Rack's world headquarters is located in South Bend, Indiana, and today our Boxer4Racing Subaru team headed out there with the other One Lap cars for event registration. I was completely blown away by the Tire Rack facility here: their main building alone—which houses the shop, showroom, corporate offices, photography studio (below), and quarter-mile-long warehouse—covers 12 acres. There's a full-service wheel-and-tire shop, and an upstairs area where Tire Rack's exclusive OZ Racing three-piece wheels are hand-assembled, tested, and each assigned individual serial numbers. I used to do a lot of tire work in the garages I worked at through school, and man, these guys have got the kind of wheel and tire equipment here that I used to daydream about. Their test facilites include a sprawling off-road course as well as the skid pad where the One Lap teams will be running our first event tomorrow. Luke Pavlick from Tire Rack's retail team was cool enough to show me around the place and let me take a bunch of pictures—click after the jump to see.
