What Did You Do This Weekend?

By John Coyle

Yesterday, Ryan and I went to the motorcycles races down at Pacific Raceways, and even though I came home with a wicked sunburn, I had a blast. While this was an amateur event, the folks from the Washington Motorcycle Road Racing Association clearly aren't fooling around, and there was plenty of serious hardware in the pits. Along with the vintage bike classes葉he tires are so skinny!葉here were races for 600s, 750s, 1000cc twins and an anything-goes class where all the insane liter bikes went head-to-head. I'll have pics posted in the events section tomorrow, but for now, make sure to check out this clip of some bikes whipping down the straight, and don't miss the photos of the sidecar bike after the jump. Riding on that little platform at triple-digit speeds must be one hell of a rush! What did you do this weekend?

LOL... well, Friday night I couldn't wait to fabricate a single-grill mod for my Firebird. I had photoshopped the mode beforehand and it looked great, even trumped 5 other options in a poll I had by getting 75 percent of the vote.
-
I made a template, painstakingly cut and formed the perforated sheet aluminum as well as humanly possible. I edged it and mounted it nice and straight by way of my million-candlepower worklight.
-
Came out Saturday morning and was horrified. It looked horrible in daylight, Horrible. Worse yet, my wife suggested I take my son to the playground, so taking it off had to wait. The world was able to see this failed mod.
-
I get to the playground AND THERE'S A CUSTOM CAR SHOW GOING ON THERE. Great, my car's got an ugly-ass grille on it and is caked with soot and whatnot. I parked in the least conspicuous place... head-in.
-
Anyway, as soon as I got home OFF came the grille and I rehabed the nose to factory condition, paint and all. Turns out with the wings west kit I need nothing else.
-
ALSO I took pics and a night time vid of the 'bird... you can see it as it is right now. I've never driven anything that got nearly as much attention (fortunately a hideous grille isn't getting the attention).

I fixed the facotry wiring harness in Ari's Scion TC and installed an A/V aux-in to his Pioneer D2. We ran the cable down the center console and and into the top section of the armrest. It looked pretty good and worked very well! He'll post pics soon.
