This Just In: New on the Net
I've been a big fat slob lately, and haven't gotten any exercise, so I was determined to go for a bike ride yesterday. Unfortunately, it poured, so I had to stay home and drink beer. Damn. Anyway, here's the news:
- Colin McRae was a giant in the world of rallying, and his death in a helicopter crash last year resonated throughout the racing world. At the end of this month, over 1,300 Subaru owners will pay tribute to him in a procession expected to stretch 20 miles. McRae Gathering
- Over in the UK, pre-pay pumps are apparently a novelty, which is kind of funny. Are folks over there just more honest? Or are petrol stations more tolerant of people driving off without paying? AutoExpress
- Kentucky: Not just for bourbon anymore! The home of bluegrass and Marker's Mark will now also export Zap electric vehicles, which currently does most of its manufacturing over in China. How long until we start seeing the little three wheelers roaming American cities? Automotive News
- Even under all that camo, the Mercedes-McLaren SLR Speedster looks insanely hot. Check out this spy video shot while it was testing at the 'Ring. World Car Fans
- The General is going to release a RWD, four-cylinder Caddy sedan priced below the CTS. Something tells me that this car will be a little better looking than the Cimarron... Motor Authority

Prepay pumps just haven't really been popular: we have some pay at pump systems, but no one uses them because odds are some crook has put a device to steal all your credit card details.
The UK is the country with the most surveillance cameras in the world, and every petrol station has plenty of them...so you won't go far if you don't pay.

Pre-pay pumps are a novelty pretty much everywhere but in America, I'm pretty sure... I know when I took a road trip down to Philly, I was like: "what the f*ck is this!??"

1300 subes. 5200 cylinders that could be firing once...but no...it will be like 10400 slobs. A bit of ricer geekiness for you.The world record helicopter recently seems more a reality than colins mishap. Colin wasn't a subaru...he just drove one.I wonder if he ever said "I live subarus from my heart". I bet the pay was the prize. Fans are strange...like a transverse inline.
