CarDomain Obscure Muscle Car Parking Lot: The 1963 Pontiac LeMans 326
By Jim Brennan
UDMan
Welcome to another edition of the CarDomain Obscure Muscle Car Parking Lot, where we discover cars that were never really thought of as Muscle Cars, and change your mind about them. It’s time to rev up the old Wayback Machine, and return to a time when the muscle car was just about to be discovered. The Pontiac Motor Division of General Motors is credited with creating the classification in 1964, with the introduction of the GTO. But what you may not know is that Pontiac actually created a number of high performance cars before the GTO ever saw the light of day. There were fuel-injected Bonnevilles, Catalina Super Duties, and this gem, the 1963 Pontiac LeMans with the 326 V-8.

Way Over the Top Trepanier-Built 1963 Corvette on eBay
By Brian Lohnes
BangShift.com
We stumbled upon this crazy 1963 Corvette for sale on eBay and just had to share it. Sporting an all-aluminum 513ci Keith Black Hemi, force fed by a Littlefield 14-71 blower, and wearing the biggest drag radials known to man, it is way over the top. We should probably mention that this is a real 1963 split-window Corvette as well.
Rad Rides by Troy built the car and we’re trying to categorize it. Is it a retro-look Pro Street car, a wanna be Pro Mod, and ISCA show circut queen, or a legit racer? The ad claims that the motor makes 1,800 hp and is backed with a Lenco, so there’s plenty of snot to go around.
The wing, wheelie bar, and chutes really point back to the days of the Pro Fairgrounds cars, very few of which actually had the guts to back up their looks on the track. While this car is certainly not down on power, we think hooking those short-sidewall radials up on a drag strip will be mission impossible.
Certainly the guy who commissioned the build of this car had a vision, we’re just trying to work backward to see what it was.
This car should be a lightning rod of opinion. Share your thoughts!

Hemmings Find of the Day: 1963 Studebaker Champ
By Dan Strohl
Hemmings
Another one from the Steve Williams collection out in Napa, California. It seems somebody decided they needed a bed cap for their 1963 Studebaker Champ, couldn’t find one in the aftermarket, and simply decided to make one themselves. I’d hazard a guess that the cap was built from a domestic 1960s van, but that window glass seems awfully big. From the seller’s description:
Has an odd custom camper on top, straight 6 we drove it to where it was parked for a couple of years so all is probably well with engine and drivetrain
A grand takes it. Your thoughts?

1963 Chevrolet Corvair: the Legend Continues…
By Mike Musto
RideLust.com
The 1963 Chevrolet Covair: a rare beast that was bred to strike fear into the hearts of motorists around the world. Its mid-engine design and aerodynamics package was supposedly designed by a group of Swedish physicists in a meat locker in South Jersey to ensure secrecy. With such features as 13″ wheels, drum brakes and a non-collapsible steering column, the Corvair was at first thought to be dangerous. But documents have surfaced recently which suggest that those features where purposely put in place to bring out the macho in every man, women and child.

1963 Bug: My New Car
By Alex Vickers
Katakuna
My ’87 F-150 went tits up and floated down the river. I found out today that the body is so far gone that it honestly isn’t worth dealing with. Come on, I found a rust hole in the floorboard big enough to stick my hand through it. So, in order to replace it, I looked for something, anything to drive. I was so desperate I was about to fork over $600 for a slightly better 1988 Olds Delta 88 Royale with a power control module issue (it keeps melting after a month or so), when my father told me that the car that’s been sitting in his driveway for about three years is going to be mine when he finally passes on, which equates to “son, that old car is yours now.”
This car once belonged to my Uncle Charlie until he died in 1981, then was hauled back to Frankfort, Kentucky all the way from Los Angeles. It was originally chocolate brown, but my uncle painted it light blue. Mind you, the man went to great detail, even doing the interior. All that he missed was the passenger-side door jam. It belonged to my grandfather until his death in 1994, in which he left it to my father with the exception that one of his grandchildren is to have it someday. Well fellow CarDomain members, that day has finally come.

I love the paint on Tim’s Catalina. And this is his daily driver. To quote Tim, “I bought this to be my daily driver because whats the point of having a car like this and it only sees that light of day on random weekends…DRIVE YOUR KUSTOM!!!!”

Matt’s ’63 Coupe DeVille is a creme puff—just look at that back seat! He’s planning “a top end rebuild on the motor with hardened valve seats so I can run unleaded gas.” I’ve been running unleaded in my Mopar with the original valve seats for years with no issue. I just put some lead subsitute in there from time to time…
