Choptop54's Buick Grand National Featured on Today's Fast Lane Daily!

By Rob Einaudi

Editor-in-Chief

Damon has one of the sickest Grand Nationals on CarDomain, so it’s no wonder the Fast Lane Daily guys liked his ride. But since they’re in New York, they couldn’t resist making some Raiders jokes… Tune in right around 3:20.

Introducing Sam Barer, Our Newest Blogger

By Rob Einaudi

Editor-in-Chief

We met Sam at the Bob Lutz dinner two weeks ago. When we learned that he had a Ferrari, a TR3 and a convertible K-car, we knew he had to blog for us (he’s also owned something like twenty Vettes over the years). Sam writes and runs both the Four Wheel Drift blog and Sound Classics. We hope you enjoyed his first blog on the Lamborghini Miura, and you should definitely check out his rides. Expect to see a lot more from Sam in the coming weeks and months.

Riding With Bobby Rice

By Rob Einaudi

Editor-in-Chief

During the Drift Office demo at Pacific Raceways on Friday I caught a ride with Bobby Rice in his nicely prepped AE86. As you can see in the pics, this car looks a lot cleaner than most drift cars, though Bobby doesn’t baby the thing. He has about $15,000 invested in it so far, and has gotten a lot of help from Bob and the rest of the crew at Drift Office. I got some crummy in-car video of my ride–going up and coming back down. As you can see we spun out both times, which was pretty hilarious. Here’s another video I shot earlier in the afternoon of Bobby ripping through the s curves. Thanks for the ride, Bobby! I have a bunch more pics of Bobby’s AE86 after the jump.

MKII Celica Supra

Winding Road has a cool article on the ’86 MKII Celica Supra. I always liked these cars (I wish they had never switched the Celica to FWD). Too bad so many of them rusted away. But Winding Road found a well preserved example in Cincinnati with only 40k miles on the clock. They took it for a day-long test drive and got a few pics along the way.

eBay Find: 1986 Pontiac/Tojan GT Coupe #39!

By Sean

Editor

Like CarDomain, eBay is a great place to find hard-to-find autos. Just check out this extremely rare 1986 Tojan GT Coupe. This CarDomain member vehicle is number 39 of 300 made, and aside from the tires and radio, it’s completely original. The Tojan started life as a Pontiac Trans Am, but the roof and the doors are the only factory sheet metal left. It was overhauled by Knudsen Automotive for GM, and they added a custom fiberglass hood, rear deck lid, front/rear quarter panels and front/rear bumpers for a completely unique look. It rides on three-piece Gotti Wheels and a performance-tuned suspension—but the fun doesn’t stop there. The interior is customized with a burl walnut dash, digital gauges, and leather Recaro seats. While the Tojan is definitely not everybody’s ideal American muscle, it is a rare and unique find. If you’re interested, go bid.

Face Off: Bad Boy Blowout

By Jen

Editor

For the last Face Off of the season, we’re setting a pair of ultra-burly race cars head to head. Glenn’s ’66 Corvette has a supercharged 426 big-block and a racing history that stretches back to its new-car days; Damon’s ’86 Grand National gets 1200 hp out of a built 355 with a custom-made twin-turbo setup, and gets some unbelievable times at the drag strip. Both cars are insanely built and obscenely fast—but only one will come away a free set of meats from Discount Tire. Vote now!
