1998 Acura Integra Type R vs. 2010 Honda Civic Si
By Rob Einaudi

Edmunds got their hands on an ultra low mile 1998 Acura Integra Type R and put it up against a 2010 Honda Civic Si. Guess which car they liked more? Kind of sad, really. Honda and Acura need to start building cool cars again. Full story at Edmunds Inside Line

Mods On The Cheap
By Brett Powers

As you may know I recently bought a ’98 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP for $800. I left the car mostly stock for a long while, but the idea of having a little supercharger whine finlly got the best of me.
I recently went to a swap meet nearby and picked up a Spectre cone filter for $5. Soon after returning home, I decided it was time to play a little with the GTP. I removed the stock airbox and hose clamped the filter for the time being until I can build my own cold air intake. Soon after getting all of this complete, I took the car for a drive and discovered the biggest holdup on my car was the stock airbox—it wasn’t getting the proper amount of air to enjoy all of the possibilities! The car had gone from “ho hum” to “yahoo!” with only five dollars!
Now that the temperature has risen and the snow is long gone, I will be looking to do much more work on my vehicles, and look forward to doing many more things to the GTP. Hopefully it will all be done on the cheap, modding the car correctly and keeping the car running safely the entire time. How about you? Have you ever made a modification on the cheap? What was it and what did you do?

Show-Winning Civic on Seattle Craigslist
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
This ’98 Civic with a B18C Type-R engine swap and a ton of JDM goodies just cropped on the Seattle Craigslist. It has appeared on the cover of Honda Tuning and has won over a dozen trophies at various car shows. The seller is asking $18,500 OBO, but I was interested to see that he is willing to consider trades for a "Pre-70’s Hot Rod/ muscle car/ Rat Rod." More pics after the jump, or see the full ad on Craigslist.

Dave's Turbo Mustang
By Rob Einaudi

One of my favorite cars at the Ultimate Track Car Challenge was the Dave Martis Mustang. The car started life as a 1998 V6 car, and Dave picked it up with a salvage title. Then things got a little crazy. This burly Stang now has a Tiger Racing carbon body, a Griggs suspension and a remote Squires Turbo System, which means the turbo sits behind the driver. Dave kindly removed the cover so I could get a shot of it, which you can see after the jump. The 4.6 aluminum block is built up with mostly Ford Racing stuff, at a cost of around $15k. With the Squires Turbo System it’s putting out 658 hp at the wheels. Dave said the car is a beast to drive and was hitting 160 mph in the straights. He placed placed 9th in Independent Study Varsity class with a time of 2:00.416. I shot this video of him backing the car around before putting it in the trailor at the end of the day. I really dig the Kawasaki racing green paint.

UTCC Contender: Garrett's Civic
By Rob Einaudi

Garrett’s ’98 Civic weighs in at 2,200 pounds with the driver, and its supercharged D16Y8 is pushing 230 hp at the wheels. The car appears to be very well sorted out, and I’m really hoping to see it at the Ultimate Track Car Challenge in June.
