Awesome Spring Festival of the LXs Recap Video
By Jen Dunnaway

Dodge just posted this video on their Facebook page. Great summary of one very cool car show, featuring a lot of enthusiasts talking about their Challengers, Chargers, Magnums and 300s. There’s a lot of cars here I’d love to know more about–like the SRT-8 Magnum re-skinned as a ’68 Charger. Take a look.

CarDomain Obscure Muscle Car Parking Lot: the 1965 Chrysler 300 L
By Jim Brennan

Welcome to the CarDomain Obscure Muscle Car Parking Lot, a regular feature which aims to expand the notion of what a muscle car is, and to generate some intellectual commentary in the process. The 1965 Chrysler 300-L is accepted by some aficionados of the letter car, but rejected by others. Some say the 300-L is not a “real” letter car because Chrysler strayed away from the original concept of the 300, while others argue that it maintained the image. Let’s take a look at Chrysler’s last real 300 letter series special, the Chrysler 300-L.

By Rob Einaudi

Gullwing-America just announced plans to build this beautiful modern day 300 SL Panamerica. The body is comprised of fiberglass-reinforced aluminum over a steel chassis, and power comes from a 370 hp supercharged 5.5 liter Mercedes V8. Sounds pretty good to me. Full press release after the jump. Via Autoblog

CarDomain Obscure Muscle Car Parking Lot: the 1970 Chrysler 300 Hurst
By Jim Brennan

Welcome to the CarDomain Obscure Muscle Car Parking Lot, a regular feature which aims to expand the notion of what a muscle car is, and have some fun in the process. It wasn’t the Pontiac GTO, Ford Mustang or Chevy 409 that began the performance car wars, it was arguably, the Chrysler 300. Making its debut in 1955, the 300 was so-named because of its 300hp Hemi V-8. The 300 Letter Series, as they would be known as, were produced as llimited edition, factory hot rods, through 1965, when the last 300 “L” was produced. After an absence of four years, a full-size Chrysler muscle car made an appearance once again in 1970. Introducing the Chrysler 300 “H” Hurst edition.

Super-Sleek Chrysler 300 Wagon
I’ve never seen the original Chrysler 300 (’55-’56) as a wagon, and unless it was an ultra-rare factory conversion or something or service-vehicle package or something, I’m pretty sure this longroof 300 is a one-off creation. And wow, is it ever beautiful. It’s got perfect, unfussy custom touches throughout, including woody-wagon-style interior trim—check out the wood surround on the pushbutton trans and the floor-and-ceiling treatment. It’s rolling on Foose 24" wheels wrapped in 405/25/24 rubber bands. More pics below the jump!

Cross Country Road Trip Time-Lapse Video
By Rob
Editor-in-Chief
This is the coolest video I’ve seen in a long time. Seriously. Some guy drove his big ol Chrysler land yacht cross country from LA to New York (picking up a buddy in New Mexico) and recorded the whole trip. The resulting time-lapse video is hypnotic (though I’m not sure about the music–you can always turn it down or add your own). It also reminded me that I have two ’66 C-body seat frames in my basement that I need to get rid of. And it really made me miss my old ’70 Fury III vert.
