CarDomain Obscure Muscle Car Parking Lot: the 1969 – 70 Mercury Marauder X-100

Welcome to the CarDomain Obscure Muscle Car Parking Lot, a regular feature which aims to expand the notion of what a muscle car is, and maybe to change your thinking in the process. Up until now, there hasn’t been a Ford product covered in this series. Is it because almost almost all of the obvious performance Fords are accepted as true muscle cars, or is it because the obscure ones haven’t been discovered yet? It’s really the latter. While this car isn’t a Ford badged product, it was produced by the Ford Motor Company. Let me introduce you to the Mercury Marauder X-100.

Boss 429 Mustang

After looking at the ‘Cuda, Scott went to check out this 1969 Boss 429 Mustang. This one has a whopping 60K original miles and the original interior looks new. And of course it’s got the numbers matching engine, trans, tags, VIN, stampings, etc., with all factory documentation. The underside is even detailed with all inspection marks, so purists will really be able to geek out on this one. Scott reports that the car was a blast to drive, and felt every bit as impressive as the Hemi ‘Cuda. Once again, a ton more pics after the jump.
